WWE Smackdown to Move to 2 Hours in August

After many rumors that Smackdown will finally move from three to two hours long, it seems the day has finally come as it seems WWE Smackdown will move to two hours starting on August 15th.

Both Variety and Wrestling Observer have reported that a new show for USA Network is taking over the 10 p.m. time slot on Friday’s starting on August 15th which is usually the final hour block of Smackdown.

USA Promoted the show two weeks ago and if this time slot holds up to be true, Smackdown will finally move back to being a two hour show.

Smackdown was a two hour show for decades but after the show moved from Fox to USA Network and when Raw moved from USA Network to Netflix, that changed the lengths of both shows. Raw was always WWE’s three hour show but the move to Netflix gave them some flexibility and it is usually a two and a half hour show.

Smackdown has been three hours long for all of 2025 and when it was moved to being that long, it was always touted that it would be temporary. That means Smackdown will be a three hour show for the first seven months of 2025 but it seems fans will rejoice as towards the end of the summer, it will become a two hour show.
