Last night, numerous TNA stars were part of a Six Man Tag Team Match on NXT television. AJ Francis teamed with both Wes Lee and TNA World Champion Trick Williams to take on the pairing of TNA star Elijah with NXT star Josh Briggs & Pro Wrestling Noah star Yoshiki Inamura.
While doing his NXT review last night, Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez noted that Elijah was injured at some point in the match.
“It was here that I noticed Elijah was hurt. I went back, and what happened was, he tried the Undertaker old-school and landed really weird on his elbow and appeared to injure it badly. He basically didn’t use his arm for the rest of the match and somehow nobody noticed it. May have been an elbow injury or a torn triceps.”
Elijah recently challenged Trick Williams for the TNA World Title at the Against All Odds monthly special and fell short of obtaining the belt after AJ Francis and KC Navarro got involved in the match. They did the same with Trick defending against Mike Santana a few weeks ago on NXT tv.
The severity of Elijah’s injury remains to be seen, but initially it doesn’t sound great with two nights of television this weekend leading into the Slammiversary PPV.
