Ben Askren Update
Over the weekend, it was revealed that former UFC fighter and collegiate wrestling legend Ben Askren was fighting a bad case of pneumonia. His wife put out a message that Ben was sick and was in intensive care working through his battle.
This week, terrible rumors began to spread that Ben had passed away. This is not true. His family has sent out a message via TMZ Sports that Askren is still very much alive, but “definitely still fighting”. They added; “He is alive and any rumor he has died is completely false.”
Fellow UFC fighter and friend of Ben Askren, Daniel Cormier, says Ben is home. “He’s with his family, his beautiful wife, Amy, and everybody is just kind of praying that Ben gets better,”
Askren developed pneumonia following a staph infection diagnosis. We wish Ben Askren the best in his recovery and send our well wishes and prayers.
