Sean O’Malley Looking To Return In December For Next Fight

Sean O’Malley is eager for a return.

Sean O’Malley’s Comeback

We’re just a few days out from UFC 316 where Sean O’Malley lost to Merab Dvalishvili with the UFC Bantamweight Title on the line. Following the loss, many fans assumed Sean would take some time off and rest. And though he will for a little, O’Malley is eager to get back in there.

Sean spoke on his TimboSuga Show, where he revealed that he’s excited to get back in there for a three round fight, admitting that he knows he won’t get a main event coming off of that title loss. Sean was then questioned about a potential return fight against Deiveson Figueiredo, and though he didn’t know about that for sure, he did give us a timetable for his return.

Yeah, it’s hard to say. The visions going to play out over the next few months, we’ll see where it goes. December seems like it would make sense for me to get back in there. Six-seven months. […] Dude, it’s June. June, July, August, September, October, November, December, what am I going to do for seven months? Sit around and play with my wiener? Don’t do that anymore, so.

Sean didn’t shy away from a Umar fight, but he did say it was nice to not think about what’s next for now. UFC would probably be glad to have Sean O’Malley back in the cage. Despite the loss, he is still a top star and money drawer for the company. But, the question is, who’s next? Only time will tell.
