John Cena & CM Punk Promo
Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena made his entrance to a huge mixed reaction. Cena wore Phoenix Suns colours. Cena told ring announcer Alicia Taylor to give his ring introduction. Cena said the crowd teaches him something everything they open their mouth. Cena said they thought him at Money in the Bank was truth was a lie. Cena said they opened their mouth on a sideshow comedian whose greatest achievement was being Cena version. We Want Truth chants. Cena asked if that accomplished anything. The crowd cheered. Cena called them spineless keyboard warriors and ignorant armchair activists. Cena said they don’t have power to change anything. Cena said R-Truth was a gimmick that fans would spit out in a year and not care about. Cena looked into the camera saying R-Truth will never use his garbage pity party to benefit off him again. Cena said it was his farewell tour. Cena counted down and says he had 19 days. Cena said to not waste his time and send him competition. Cena said he has beaten Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton and R-Truth.
The crowd went wild as CM Punk made his entrance to a huge reaction. Huge CM Punk chants. Punk asked Cena if he was comfortable? Punk said he wanted Cena to be comfortable because he has lots of things to get off his chest. Punk said he’s prepared to have this conversation with his fists. Punk said Cena will listen to everything he has to say right now. Punk said Cena was going to ruin wrestling and Punk defending the establishment. Punk said more things change, the more they stay the same. Punk said he’s not defending the establishment. Punk said he’s not standing for TKO or defend the billionaires. Punk said he’s here to defend the people. Punk said the establishment picked Cena but the people never did. Punk said the people picked him in 2011 to be the Voice of the Voiceless.
Punk said Cena hasn’t faced the best completion. Punk said Cody was the best we got. The crowd cheered. Punk said Cena beat Cody because he took shortcuts. Punk said he’s not here to kiss “The Final Boss” ass like Cena. Punk said the people are his boss. The crowd booed as Cena held up the Undisputed WWE Title. Punk said it was his job to give them the truth. Punk said if they want the truth, they will get Ron Killings. The crowd cheered. Punk said he once said famously they were all spokes on a wheel. Punk said it’s time Cena realizes he’s also just a spoke on the wheel. Punk said it starts by him taking the Undisputed WWE Title.
Punk brought up how Cena won at Elimination Chamber after Seth Rollins hit the Stomp. Punk said he heard Cena scream “I’m Sorry” before he went unconscious in the STF. Punk said Cena knows what he’s doing is not right. You Sold Out chants directed at Cena. Punk said when he takes the Undisputed WWE Title, Cena will be crisscrossing apologizing to the people for the person he’s become. Punk shoved Cena saying the title curroted him. Punk said the same title did the same to him in 2012. Love the callbacks here. Punk said winning the title wasn’t a goal when he came back to WWE. Punk said everybody should want to be champion. Punk said he has to become a monster to stop the monster. Punk said to Cena and Rollins, the title means power. Punk said the title belongs to the people. Punk said Cena can choose the date. Punk said if Cena is more Boston Red Sox than New York Yankees, he would pick Phoenix in Raw for the match.
Cena said him and Punk in one final match. Cena said the Best in the World vs Greatest of all Time. Cena told Punk let’s do it. The crowd cheered. The crowd booed Cena said not tonight. Cena said Punk would follow him to Saudi Arabia and said it would happen at WWE Night of Champions. Cena asked Punk what he says holding up the Undisputed WWE Title. Seth Rollins came out holding the Money in the Bank briefcase with Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. Rollins music played.
Amin’s Thoughts — There is just something magical and special when Cena and Punk are standing together inside the ring. This was more fun to watch because the dynamic has changed with Cena as the heel and Punk as the babyface. It’s going to be really cool to see Cena and Punk having one more match together in WWE. The big talking point is where this match is actually going to take place. Punk was part of the WWE Backstage show with FOX in 2019. There was one week where The Miz was on the show and took a jab at Punk. This led to Punk going on Twitter and now X taking a jab at Miz about going to Saudi Arabia. There will be people online calling out Punk for going to Saudi. My thinking is Punk wanting to be a team player for WWE and go to the show. I’m fine with Punk if he wants to be a WWE team player and go to the show. There’s going to be bigger shows like Royal Rumble which is taking place in Saudi Arabia next year. There very well could be a WrestleMania taking place in Saudi Arabia in the coming years. Punk is likely not going to miss those big shows when they come to Saudi Arabia. Punk is a big star in WWE and him going to Saudi Arabia for a big show was going to happen at some point. I would’ve rather preferred to see the Cena and Punk match happen at SummerSlam show. I’m still very much looking forward to the match. Cena telling Punk to follow him to Saudi Arabia to get the Undisputed WWE Title match was a great heel line. That was a way to get heat on Cena who’s playing the heel to get Punk to come to Saudi Arabia for an Undisputed WWE Title match. That line from Cena could maybe be WWE’s way of referencing the Punk tweet without mentioning it on television. Overall, a really good segment to set up a big Undisputed WWE Title match.
—Michael Cole and Wade Barrett were on commentary. They showed the full brackets for the King and Queen of the Ring tournament. The most newsworthy was Asuka making her return in the Queen of the Ring. There will be a mystery opponent in the King of the Ring.

AJ Styles defeated Chad Gable
Amin’s Thoughts — A fun match with some great action. Gable is such a valuable player to WWE as you can always count on him to give you a good match. Styles right now just feels like another big name on the WWE roster so it was good to see him get the win in this match. They have been teasing Styles going against Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Title so this win was a step in the right direction. Gable and Styles could have a much better match with more time. This was still a fun match to watch.
—Liv Morgan was backstage with Roxanne Perez. Roxanne was about to suggest something for the match but Liv stopped her. Liv said she was going to advance in the tournament and beat Iyo Sky for the Women’s World Title. Roxanne suggested that she and Liv work together so someone for the Judgment Day can advance. Roxanne Perez defeated Kairi Sane, Liv Morgan & Rhea Ripley to advance in semi-finals of Women’s Queen of the Ring Tournament
Amin’s Thoughts — The one slight program with multi-person matches is having No DQ’s which likely leads to some outside interference. We got that here with Raquel costing Ripley the match. I actually didn’t mind it because they didn’t go with the obvious choice with Ripley winning. WWE Women’s division is very talented so it’s good to see fresh stars get wins as well. I like Roxanne winning as it adds you get more story within The Judgment group. A really fun action packed match with everyone getting a chance to shine.
—We saw highlight from the WWE x AAA World Collide show.
—We saw a highlight package of WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella.
—Nikki Bella was shown speaking with Natalya and Maxxine Dupri backstage. Nikki approached WWE Women’s World Champion Iyo Sky who was speaking with Kairi Sane after her match. Nikki introduced herself to Iyo. Nikki told Iyo how she respects the Women’s division and what she’s done for the Women’s World Title. Iyo told Nikki she respects how she’s paved the way for her. They shook hands.
Becky Lynch Promo
The new WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch made way entrance to a big mixed reaction. Becky asked the crowd why there wasn’t You Deserve It chants. Becky said she doesn’t need the fans to save because she knows she deserves it. Becky said she should be here celebrating after her incredible victory. Becky noted there’s not much to celebrate after so much she’s accomplished in her career. Becky spoke about winning other tiles, multiple times, Royal Rumble winner and first Woman to win main event of WrestleMania. Becky said she’s was a best selling author and now Women’s Intercontinental Champion. Becky said the title was about giving opportunities. Becky said the greatest opportunity this title had was when she won. Becky said welcome to the Big Time to the Women’s Intercontinental Title. Becky called the title the biggest prize in all of wrestling because she’s holding it. Becky said should be celebrating with her hot husband and beautiful child. Becky said she’s not celebrating because Lyra Valkyria ruined everything. Becky said Valkyria raised her hand aggressively that Becky thought she dislocated her shoulder. Becky said because Valkyria hurt her shoulder she asked to put the Women’s IC Title around her waist. Becky said Valkyria went crazy and tried to “kill her”. Becky wanted Valkyria to apologize and raise her hand right.
Becky called Valkyria to the ring. Lyra Valkyria made her entrance to the ring. The crowd cheered as Bayley made her return to a big reaction. Bayley attacked Becky with mounted strikes. Becky went to leave the ring. Becky bumped into Valkyria. This led to Valkyria sending Becky back into the ring. Bayley went for Rose Plant. Becky escaped and left through the crowd. Bayley stood on the ropes and posed. Valkyria looked confused wondering what was going on with Bayley returning.
Amin’s Thoughts — Becky Lynch just continues to rock as she knows to play to the crowds as a heel. Becky’s way of speaking and her mannerisms are just tip notch stuff. Great to see Bayley back right on the time towards the Women’s Evolution PLE build. Valkyria’s reaction to Bayley was something to keep in mind for down the road. I could see a Three Way with Bayley, Becky and Valkyria for Night of Champions. Bayley and Becky should be the big match for the Women’s Evolution PLE.
Ron Killings Promo
R-Truth made his way from the crowd and stood on the announcers table. R-Truth said don’t let anybody tell you that you don’t matter. R-Truth said don’t let anyone tell you that your voice doesn’t matter. R-Truth said they heard, they listened and they understood. R-Truth said he’s back because of the crowd. Truth chants. R-Truth said he’s back for all the fans. R-Truth said he’s back from himself. R-Truth said everyone loves him. R-Truth said he loves him too. R-Truth said he could be too funny all the time, too nice and too forgiving. R-Truth said not me and feels different. R-Truth said he feels alive. R-Truth asked if he was a sideshow act or gimmick. The crowd chanted no. R-Truth pulled out scissors. R-Truth cut his hair. The crowd chanted “Holy S*it!” R-Truth held up his hair. R-Truth said “The Truth Has Set Him Free!” He said he is Ron Killings. He said he’s the truth, all the truth and nothing but the truth. He said to put respect on his name.
Amin’s Thoughts — This was tremendous stuff here from Killings speaking from the heart about how the fans made WWE listen to bring him back. The visual of Killings cutting his hair was really powerful and strong stuff. Glad to see Killings getting the chance to have a serious run and move away from his comedy R-Truth character. This was fantastic.

Sami Zayn defeated Dominik Mysterio, Bron Breakker & Penta advancing to semi-finals of King of the Tournament
Amin’s Thoughts — This is WWE’s specialty the multi-person matches which mostly turn out to be bangers. A fantastic action packed match from start to finish with everyone shining. Bron Breakker looked like a superstar being showcased as a badass. Dominik is getting so much better in the ring with more matches. The crowd continues to react to Penta like a top level star which is great. I liked the layout with LA Knight getting revenge on Seth Rollins crew. I could see Zayn winning the King of the Ring tournament. Seth Rollins cashing the Money in the Bank on Zayn at SummerSlam. WWE has the opportunity to tell a tremendous story with Zayn who has never won the World Title. Zayn winning the Royal Rumble next year in Saudi Arabia and then beating Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania. We shall see if that’s the story they decide to tell. You can sense Zayn is gonna be WWE World Champion at some point soon. Really great match.

—We saw a highlight package for the returning Asuka.

Nikki told Liv to congratulate Roxanne for taking her title shot and her man. Nikki went to leave the ring. Liv said she’s a champion. Liv said Nikki would ever be was a reality show diva. Nikki went to enter the ring. Liv laid out Nikki by hitting ObLIVion.
Amin’s Thoughts — Good promo work here from Nikki and Liv. Nikki is beloved by lots of WWE fans and should be part of the Evolution PLE. Liv has been of the MVP’s of the Women’s Division. This was a fine way to set up a Liv and Nikki match for Evolution PLE. Or could we maybe see Nikki & Brie Bella challenging for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles against Liv & Raquel Rodriguez at Evolution. I would really like for Evolution to feel like a special WWE PLE and not just have the five match Paul Levesque card for B level show. I’m saying this as one of Triple H’s biggest fans and will say he’s been doing a great job since taking over WWE creative.

Gunther defeated Jey Uso via Submission to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship
➤Jey’s son checked on his dad after the match. Gunther celebrated with the WWE World Heavyweight Title. There was a big firework display for Gunther winning the World Heavyweight Title. WWE Raw closed.
Amin’s Thoughts — This was a tremendous old school professional wrestling match for the World Heavyweight Title. You can just tell how they were going to pace this match from the start. They told a great story here with Jey starting off hot right from the start. You saw why Jey started quick because he wanted to end it quickly with his taped up ribs. Gunther played just a great heel going after Jey’s ribs and removing the tape. I liked the other part of the story with both Jey and Gunther going for the Sleeper Hold. They announced this match around a month in advance letting in you they were saving the World Heavyweight Title match for this show and not at the Money in the Bank PLE. You had to wonder what kind of finish did they have planed for the World Title match. I didn’t think Gunther would lose two World Title matches to Jey. I also knew Jey wouldn’t hold the World Title long and most likely lose at SummerSlam. They could’ve went with a possible cash-in after the Money in the Bank PLE. Instead what we got was a great World Heavyweight Title wrestling match. They protected Jey with the finish with the tape ribs. Gunther being the dominant champion is the right way to go. Gunther as champion makes things more interesting with the King of the Ring ongoing and with Seth Rollins who’s a heel holding the Money in the Bank briefcase. Overall, a really good match and felt like a bigger deal getting a clean finish with Gunther as WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

WWE RAW on Netflix (AWESOME)
FINAL SCORE (9 OUT OF 10)
This will be in the running for one of my favourite episodes of RAW for the year. The best part of the show was everything mattered and felt important. We got King and Queen of the Ring qualifying matches for a tournament that has stakes. Gunther is once again WWE World Heavyweight Champion. They have started the build towards Evolution with both Bayley returning and Nikki Bella making an appearance. Ron Killings delivered an impactful promo. A big talking point was the Cena and Punk match announcement for the Undisputed WWE Title. A pretty newsworthy show which got you excited for lots of big WWE shows coming up. Just an enjoyable show to watch from start to finish. Overall, an awesome episode of RAW on Netflix. .
