TNA could have a new World Champion this week.
Last week on NXT, Mike Santana defeated No Quarter Catch Crew member Tavion Heights in a match.
Later on in the show, Trick Williams comes out as the new TNA World Champion. He says that the belts lineage is incredible and lists off some former champion, but says that none of them compare to him. Santana made came out from the back to interrupt TNA World Champion Trick Williams.
TNA star Mike Santana comes out and interrupts Trick. He says that Trick is not HIS champion, and that he wasn’t going to let Trick tear down TNA and everything that locker room has built.
He made it clear that he’ll be the one to take the title back home to TNA after Joe Hendry lost it days prior. Santana called Trick a pretend rapper, a pretend wrestler, and a pretend champion. Mike claimed Trick has never dealt with someone like him.
Trick claps back and says that he’s going to take off his shoes and beat his ass with them.
TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella appears on the video screen. He congratulates Trick on being the TNA champion, but makes it known that he WILL be a defending champion – and so he spoke to Ava and got it approved – Trick will defend the TNA World Title against Mike Santana next week on NXT TV.
Santana comments:
“Today is the day.
I have worked my entire life for these moments and I will prove that I am who I say I am.
FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION.
NEVER HAS BEEN. NEVER WILL BE.
Tonight I fight for myself.
I fight for TNA.
I fight for my city and culture.
But most of all, I fight for my little girl who will be watching her papi at home, live his dreams. And know that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

Mike Santana signed with TNA Wrestling in April of 2024 and returned to the company at the TNA Rebellion PPV, immediately being tested against one of the top TNA stars, Steve Maclin.
Many fans expect Mike Santana be part of the TNA World Title match at TNA Slammiversary in New York at the UBS Arena.
Will Santana win the title tonight, or will Trick have something up his sleeve? We’ll have to tune in to THE CW network at 8pm Eastern/7pm Central time to find out.
