Former WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis has seemingly flipped sides in the Janel Grant Case by dropping out as a defendant in order to provide Grant evidence.
Grant’s claims have officially been voluntarily dismissed which means Grant has agreed to not bring any claims against Laurinaitis
“John Laurinaitis has agreed to cooperate and provide evidence in Janel Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE,” the statement to POST Wrestling reads. “His agreement to a confidential settlement is a pivotal next step toward holding McMahon and WWE accountable and bringing justice to Ms. Grant after years of sexual abuse and trafficking. Mr. Laurinaitis looks forward to moving on with his life. We cannot provide any additional details at this time.”
Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics has confirmed with Laurinaitis’s attorney of his support of the statement from Grant.
This is not the first time that Laurinaitis has switched sides in this case. Back in February of 2024, Laurinaitis claimed that he was a victim of Vince McMahon days after the Grant lawsuit was filed. Then three months later, Laurinaitis supported McMahon by saying Grant’s claims were unfounded and he would fight off these allegations with McMahon.
In the amended lawsuit which was approved by a judge in April of 2025, more details were revealed which alleges that Grant was sexually assaulted by both McMahon and Laurinaitis. Grant also claimed that McMahon sex trafficked her while employed by the WWE and the company was negligent in the abuse.
From the defendants side of things, they are expected to file motions to move this case out of public courts and into private arbitration by June 13th.
