Willow Nightingale Reflects on Growth & Future Goals, And Confirms Re-Signing With AEW
AEW star Willow Nightingale recently discussed her decision to re-sign with the company.
Willow Nightingale has solidified herself as one of AEW’s most beloved talents over the past three years—and her tenure with the company is set to continue.
Earlier this month, Fightful Select reported that Nightingale had agreed to a multi-year contract extension with AEW, securing her future with the promotion well before her previous deal expired.
confirming the news in an exclusive interview with The Takedown on SI. The 31-year-old star expressed enthusiasm about her continued journey with AEW, emphasizing her belief in the company’s evolution and her own ambitions.
“I am happy where I am,” Nightingale stated. “There’s so much left for me to accomplish in AEW. We’re past the years of finding our footing, and being part of that growth—while helping it continue—is both a privilege and a joy.”
Willow Nightingale has established herself as one of AEW’s brightest stars since fully joining the company in 2022, capturing championships across multiple partner promotions including the NJPW Strong Women’s Title in 2023 and CMLL Women’s World Title in 2024 to complement her 2024 TBS Championship reign in AEW. The versatile 31-year-old has become a fan favorite through her hard-hitting style and underdog spirit, regularly competing in high-profile matches across AEW, ROH, and international partners while currently being featured in a main-event feud with the Death Riders following her recent multi-year contract extension.
“AEW’s partnerships allow me to be a weekly TV presence while also traveling to places like Tokyo or Mexico City,” she explained. “I get to learn new styles, grow as a wrestler, and connect with people who remind me of the bigger picture—both in wrestling and in life.”
