Sonya Deville Weighing all Options Post WWE Release, Considering Wrestling, MMA And More

Former WWE Superstar Sonya Deville is interested in a possible return to wrestling, MMA and even as an authority figure.

In a new interview with Fightful Select, Deville told Sean Ross Sapp that she is happy with the freedom she has with her life and career options at the moment.

“As things stand, she’s enjoying having freedom and taking things slow. She’s keeping every opportunity on the table but really wants to consider things. She said that she is equally interested in the possibilities of wrestling, MMA, and working in an authority figure role.”

Deville’s WWE contract was not renewed in February of this year. She was in the middle of being the leader of a new faction called Pure Fusion Collective alongside Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark. Baszler was among the post Wrestlemania releases this year.

In her 10 years in WWE, she was apart of many tag teams and was an authority figure on television. Deville won her first and only championship in 2023 by winning the tag team titles with Chelsea Green. Deville got hurt in the middle of the reign and Piper Niven took over with Green as champs. Deville also was the first openly gay superstar in company history.

Post her exit from WWE, Deville has started a podcast with her wife Toni Cassano called Unwrapped. Deville has made no major appearances in wrestling since her exit.
