ROH on Honor Club Results – 05/01/2025

We open with a video package from this past weekend on Collision as Bandido made the first defense of his second ROH World Title reign against Dralistico. And last nigh on Dynamite, we had Nick Wayne’s first defense of the ROH World TV Title against Jay Lethal. There’s literally no reason that these could not have happened on this show, but here we are.

Tonight, we have the ROH Women’s World TV Title on the line, as Red Velvet defends against CMLL’s La Catalina, but that is NOT our main event, because that honor goes to Spanish Announce Project vs. The Frat House duo of Griff Garrison and Cole Karter.

But first we have a return on tap!

MATCH 1 – Leila Grey vs. Mina Shirakawa
Just going to come out and say it. The flash and spectacle of Mina’s entrance absolutely does not fit with this crowd that is here before a Collision taping and DOES NOT care. This is why I keep saying ROH needs its own tapings. Code of Honor is followed. Caprice and Ian openly wonder about Leila’s mental state after the rough ending to Top Flight’s match with Cru last week, and her seemingly walking out on the team. But she’s still using their entrance music and video. Some light chain wrestling and Leila takes over with a sling blade variant and a flipping neckbreaker, but she celebrates before the cover and only gets two. Mina almost gets hung up on a springboard kick, but keeps it together, and then takes over, attacking Leila’s left leg. She goes for the Figure Four and Leila makes the ropes. Ian points out that if this was in the Women’s Pure tournament, Leila would be down a rope break. A diving sling blade gets two for Mina. Leila dodges a charge and goes for what looks like a Tiger Driver, but Mina spins free and locks back in the figure four. She bridges and gets the tap out.
Mina Shirakawa def. Leila Grey by submission with a figure-four leglock in 4:55.

Code of Honor is followed after the match and we get a show of respect. At least there’s that.

After an ad for Double or Nothing, we flash back to Lee Johnson, Blake Christian, MXM Collection and Johnny TV taking out Dustin Rhodes, Sammy Guevara, and the Von Erichs. MXM and Johnny are in action next!

MATCH 2 – MXM Collection and Johnny TV vs. Rosario Grillo, Kameron Russell and Allen Russell
Mansoor and Grillo start, but after the Code of Honor, Mansoor wonders what he’s doing and tags in Madden so the biggest man can start the match. After getting manhandled by Madden, Allen Russell tags in and gets immediately booted and tossed to the corner. Johnny tags in. Allen gets laid out again and we get a three-way pose. Johnny misses a 450 and Allen scores with a jumping knee. Tags on both sides, and Kameron Russell goes wild. Until he gets stopped in mid-air by Madden on a dive, and Mansoor comes in with a running senton while he’s suspended over the second rope. Flying Chuck kick by Johnny lays out Kameron, Mansoor scores with an inverted atomic drop/spinebuster combo. Then a sit-out chokeslam and the Super High Gloss Centerfold finishes.
MXM Collection & Johnny TV def. Rosario Grillo, Kameron Russel and Allen Russell (all three pin Kameron) with the Super High Gloss Centerfold in 5:23.

Post-match, Aubrey raises their hands, and joins in on the pose, and honestly, kills it. Stephon Smith needs to up his game.

MATCH 3 – Red Velvet(c) vs. La Catalina – ROH Women’s World TV Title Match
Looks like this was recorded in Boston. Pre-match, we flashed back to Velvet winning a Proving Ground match, and being confronted by Catalina after. Velvet fakes out the Code of Honor twice with gyrations, so Catalina grabs the hand herself. At least someone gets that the Code of Honor matters. Ian wins more of my eternal admiration by pointing out how long it took for Christopher Daniels to follow the Code of Honor and how important it was when he finally did so. Back and forth until it gets taken out to the floor, Catalina takes over, but Velvet trips her up on the apron and wraps the knee around the ring post. Catalina keeps building back but the knee is affecting her ability to follow up on advantages or launch into offense. She gets repetitive with her offense and meets a drop toe hold into the ropes. Shotgun knees in the ropes and Stir It Up get a two count. Velvet sets her up for a superplex, but Catalina throws her off and hits a shotgun dropkick. Electric Chair Drop, and Catalina goes up. Velvet cuts her off, hits a superplex, and goes to a half crab, but Catalina gets the ropes. Velvet turns her away from the ropes, re-applies it (using the ropes to seemingly maintain her balance) and Catalina taps.
Red Velvet def. La Catalina by submission with a half Boston crab in 9:07.

We run over the upcoming Women’s Pure Title tournament, with names announced so far: Serena Deeb, Queen Aminata, Taya Valkyrie, Deonna Purrazo, and Leila Grey.

MATCH 4 – The Frat House (Griff Garrison & Cole Karter) vs. Spanish Announce Project
Did you remember this feud? Well it’s back! Now instead of being Maria’s himbo baby boys, Garrison and Karter are douche-bros. They (badly) play beer pong with a couple of extras and chop them when they miss. Karter kindly offers the official and Bobby Cruise his red solo cup. They both (wisely) pass. Garrison and Karter offer a drink to SAP, but of course wind up throwing the drinks in Serpentico and Angelico’s faces. But SAP quickly takes over regardless. After some cheap shots from the floor, Garrison gets the upper hand on Serpentico, and tags out to Karter. Serpentico finally is able to hit a flying headscissors on Garrison, and after an upkick, is able to tag in Angelico. He goes wild, but tags Serpentico in–possibly too quickly Ian and Caprice observe. Garrison takes out Angelico and Karter finishes Serpentico with a spinout DDT.
The Frat House def. Spanish Announce Project (Karter pins Serpentico) with a spinout DDT in 7:34.

Post-match, a four-on-two beatdown ensues with Jameson and Vance getting involved for the Frat House. But BANDIDO is here to save the day! Because reasons! The ROH World Champion runs off the Frat House, complete with a belt shot to Cole Karter for good measure. Bandido celebrates with SAP while Ian wishes us HAPPY WRESTLING, EVERYBODY!
