UFC To Meet With Netflix And Amazon Right Away Following Expired ESPN Exclusivity
UFC to Netflix? Amazon?
UFC Rights Deal
UFC is currently in a TV rights deal with ESPN that will run until the end of 2025. But, as of today, UFC is allowed to begin negotiating a new deal with whoever they want.
As first reported by John Ourand, UFC is set to have meetings with both Netflix and Amazon ‘almost right away’. This past weekend following UFC 314, Dana White spoke briefly about the upcoming negotiations and did note that he’d be okay with moving UFC pay-per-view events away from tradition PPV and into the streaming world.
Boxing has been seen on Amazon Prime Video, as well as fellow combat sports company, ONE Championship. Boxing has also had a presence on Netflix with Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson. UFC’s under the TKO umbrella with WWE, who has recently joined on Netflix and streams PPV’s to Netflix internationally, and their WWE RAW program on Monday internationally and in the states. But, WWE does provide ‘Premium Live Events’ in the states via Peacock’s streaming service.
Many fans have hoped for UFC to get rid of traditional PPV and follow the streaming platform craze, and it may just be the time. We will continue to update you on any negotiation news.
