Former TNA World Champion Rich Swann is officially a free agent.
Fightful Select is reporting that “Rich Swann’s TNA contract expired and he is now a free agent. Swann signed a two-year extension with TNA in late 2022, and it expired at the end of 2024.
We’re told that there was an additional option year that didn’t get picked up.”
Rich Swann’s last match with TNA aired on the 8/29 episode of TNA iMPACT! where he lost a match to Mike Bailey for the X Division Title.
Swann was arrested back on June 8th for disorderly public intoxication and causing a disturbance – and failed to notify the company about the arrest. They found out about it only after being contacted for a comment on it – TNA suspended Swann and issued a statement:
“TNA Wrestling takes any and all charges against its performers seriously. Rich Swann is responsible for his own personal actions.”
He has informed TNA Wrestling that he is voluntarily entering into a substance abuse rehabilitation program. TNA Wrestling has suspended Rich pending the completion of its investigation into the incidents.”
While it is unclear exactly when Swann began the outpatient rehabilitation, on March 26, Rich took to his social media Instagram to reveal that he had completed the rehabilitation program.
Rich Swann is a former TNA/IMPACT Wrestling Digital Media, X Division, and World Champion. As World Champion, Swann was part of one of the biggest events in TNA/IMPACT history – a title for title match against AEW World Champion Kenny Omega at the Rebellion PPV back in 2021. Swann would lose, but went almost thirty minutes with one of the best in the world, Kenny Omega.
