AEW Dynamite
Jay White was set to be a part of the Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournament. But, when AEW Dynamite started tonight, they revealed that Jay White was attacked by the Death Riders backstage, and would not be able to compete in the tournament.
While this attack was made up for storyline purposes, Jay White is actually hurt. Fightful Select first reported that Jay White will undergo surgery for a legit injury he sustained.
Switchblade Jay White is going to miss some time.
AEW mentioned on Dynamite that “Switchblade” Jay White was injured due to an attack from the Death Riders and out of the Owen Hart Foundation Memorial Tournament. Fightful Select learned that White had sustained a legitimate injury ahead of Dynamite, but that a storyline reason was created to explain it.
Fightful has confirmed the injury and that Jay White is expected to undergo surgery. We’ve not confirmed what the injury specifically is. The injury has caused some significant creative changes as a result of his removal from the tournament.
Kevin Knight has replaced Jay White in the tournament and will take on Will Ospreay in round one. We wish the best for Jay White.
