Lyra Valkyria successfully defended her WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Raquel Rodriguez on Monday Night RAW. Following her match, WWE cameras and Cathy Kelley caught up with Lyra for an instant reaction following her win.
Lyra said she definitely underestimated Raquel, but she was happy with the win while competing so close to her home in Ireland.
What an electric atmosphere, what a crowd! You know, Glasgow just, the Irish and the Scottish, we’re almost like home, you know, outside the skies, they’re dull and gray. But inside, the atmosphere and the people, oh my god! I could go out there in front of that crowd again and again. Doesn’t matter how many times I get hit, I loved that out there! I will say, I should’ve listened to Bayley more. I definitely did underestimate Raquel, maybe it’s because she finally got glasses that fit her, I don’t know, but what a crowd. What a defense. I got to kick Liv Morgan in the face, always has that coming. But, wow, that’s another one done. U.K. Tour, successful defense, Lyra Valkyria. Witness the rise, who knows what’s next?
There are many women lined up to challenge Lyra, even Bayley took a little peek at the title on RAW. Possibly, she could be next!
