Cain Velasquez Receives Sentence For 2022 Shooting

Cain must serve two years in prison.

Cain Velasquez Sentenced

Cain Velasquez peeled no-contest on Monday, March 24, to numerous charges, including attempted murder. These charges were brought on from an 2022 incident where Velasquez allegedly shot at Harry Goularte Jr. and two members of his family during a high-speed chase. Velasquez allegedly attempted to shoot at Goularte, but instead injured Goularte’s stepfather. Cain shot at him due to Goularte being arrested after allegedly sexually abusing Velasquez’s child at a daycare facility.

Velasquez has been sentenced to five years in prison, but, the UFC legend will get credit for the time he has already served, approximately 1,283 days. With the reduction, Velasquez is set to get out of prison in less than two years. Cain Velasquez has also been sentenced to four years of supervised probation.

Back in 2022, it was reported by ESPN that Rey Mysterio, Konnan and Lucha Libre AAA president Dorian Roldan as well as Dana White, Brandon Moreno, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Islam Makhachev, Daniel Cormier, Yair Rodriguez, Kelvin Gastelum, Kamaru Usman, Henry Cejudo and 22 others wrote letters in support of Cain Velasquez to the Santa Clara County (California) Superior Court pleading his bail.
