UFC is coming to Azerbaijan?
Kyoji Horiguchi Returns?
Kyoji Horiguchi is a mixed martial artist from Japan holding a 34-5 record and you may remember him in the UFC from 2013-2016 where he lost once, which was to Demetrious Johnson. While on a three fight winning streak following the loss, Kyoji decided to leave and go back to Japan to help build up RIZIN.
Now, Ariel Helwani has revealed on The Boys In The Back that sources told him UFC is very close to welcoming Horiguchi back to the UFC and he could possibly be fighting Tagir Ulanbekov. But, where would this fight take place? Well, Ariel also revealed that UFC is looking to have their first show ever in the Republic of Azerbaijan in June later this year. Azerbaijan is technically in Asia and bordered by European countries.
The Japanese Flyweight is a highly touted talent in the MMA world and many are excited at the prospect of his return.
