Jon Moxley Retains AEW Championship On Dynamite
Jon Moxley retains in a war.
Street Fight
Jon Moxley and Adam ‘Cope’ Copeland battled at AEW Revolution, but that match ended with Christian cashing in his title opportunity, making it a triple threat, then being submitted by Moxley. Since Cope didn’t get pinned, he wanted a rematch.
Therefore, a Street Fight rematch was made for the AEW Championship between Moxley and Cope and it all went down on tonight’s AEW Dynamite. The Street Fight actually did start outside in the parking lot and things got underway fast.
Kendo sticks, trash cans, chairs and much more were involved in this match, Cope even introduced a 2×4 full of nails! Both men beat the hell out of each other with any weapon they could get their hands on, but it was the spiked 2×4 being stuck in Moxley’s back that changed everything!
Moxley was hurt, so YUTA, Claudio and PAC made their presence known and attacked Cope. YUTA was put through a table, and FTR came out for the save and all hell broke loose. Cope then speared Moxley through a table, but he couldn’t get the win. Marina made the save for Moxley, so Willow Nightingale ran out to help Cope.
In the end, it was Nick Wayne who hit a cutter on Cope and allowed Moxley to take control and choke out Cope to retain.
After the match, Dax Harwood walked out on Copeland and Wheeler.
