John Cena & Goldberg’s Farewells.
Goldberg vs. John Cena?
John Cena is on his farewell tour right now and plans to finish up at the end of the year. Goldberg is also looking to have one more match this year and then call it a career at almost 60 years old.
Today, Goldberg joined The Ariel Helwani Show and was asked if he had his option, what would he book for himself as a retirement match. Goldberg says he’d like to get his hands on John Cena, and also mentions Roman Reigns and Bron Breakker as potential opponents.
I never got a chance to get my hand around Cena’s throat. That might’ve been cool. There’s a lot of people that I would’ve loved to face back in the day. But, the fact is that you look at what does that do for the business now? And a lot of people don’t even remember me that watch wrestling right now. And a lot of people obviously don’t know me because they speak negatively about me and I think that I was an innovator of sorts. So, you know, there’s a plethora, I mean, I’d love to have a rematch with Roman. There’s so many guys that are so talented and on the cusp of stardom, if not there yet, that are possibilities. Bron Breakker, you know? I mean, hell, think about it. It’s a logical solution. But, it’s all in how the powers that he want to make it happen, you know. Dana White is the big example, right? Vince used to be the biggest example, now it’s Triple H. So, we’ll figure it out and hopefully at the end of the day, I’m able to present myself in a positive manner to where the people of today who don’t remember me, will sure as frick remember me after they see me my last time. And it won’t be in a negative way. Hopefully physically understanding that, yeah, I do have a couple limitations, but.
Goldberg did say that it is set in stone, his final match will be in 2025 but he doesn’t know exactly when.
