UFC Potentially Looking At Netflix As New Streaming Provider

UFC on Netflix?

UFC Seeking New Provider

UFC is currently under contract with ESPN+. Their fight night events run on ESPN+ with a subscription and no additional cost. But, their Pay-Per-View events run on ESPN+ with additional cost. Recently, for UFC 313, many fans had issues buying the Pay-Per-View event and some didn’t even get to watch, which caused tons of complaints towards UFC.

Dana White, UFC President, addressed this and was very unhappy with ESPN+ as a provider and touted that many people were having streaming issues with the platform, and this is hardly the first time. UFC’s contract ends in April and the company is allowed to begin shopping around for a new provider. It seems now that all eyes are on Netflix.

UFC is under the TKO banner, which also has WWE. WWE recently struck a deal at the start of 2025 with Netflix to hold WWE RAW on Netflix, live, every Monday in the United States. Outside of the U.S., Netflix houses all WWE content and Pay-Per-Views with no additional cost. Could UFC be next?

New York Post’s Eric Richter spoke on the ‘Against The Cage’ Podcast about the prospect of UFC joining Netflix. He noted that UFC was extremely upset with ESPN+ following the most recent Pay-Per-View and also have issues with the streaming service because of their technology, feeling it’s not up-to-par with other services. ESPN feels they’re not getting the Pay-Per-View buys that they expected, as well.

PPV numbers are reportedly “way down” and this affects PPV Points, which is extra money for the headlining fighters. So, with UFC looking to shop providers, Netflix is a huge look. UFC will reportedly “do everything in their power” to get a deal with Netflix, and though UFC is stuck in their ways with the traditional Pay-Per-View model, TKO President Mark Shapiro is flexible with the company, as Netflix is not a fan of the PPV model.

This could mean that Netflix will house all of UFC’s events and Pay-Per-Views at no additional cost, similar to WWE, NFL or the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson boxing bout. The deal between the two will remain to be seen until at least April, when then ESPN deal ends. Stay tuned.
