TNA X Division Champion Moose: “There Were Plans Of [CM] Punk Coming To TNA While I Was World Champion”
Moments ago, top TNA star and X Division Champion Moose took to his social media Twitter account to reveal that not only was CM Punk scheduled to come to TNA, there were tentative plans for the two to have a feud for the World Title.
“So while I was World Champ there were plans of Punk coming to TNA and us Fueding. Punk vs Lesnar from SS2013 is one of my favorites matches ever. I was looking forward to recreating something just as awesome. But Obviously it never happened but who Knows. Shout out to @CMPunk GOAT.”
This comes on the heels of Moose wrestling NXT Champion Oba Femi last night on the NXT Roadblock episode in Madison Square Garden Theater.
On August 27th at AEW All In, Punk was involved in yet another backstage altercation. However, this one would be different than those in the past in various ways. Namely, Punk not only fought with Jack Perry, he also reportedly lunged at AEW president Tony Khan while furiously quitting the company.
Punk and Perry were both suspended following this altercation, and then Punk was subsequently terminated, with cause, despite Punk’s drawing power.
Later, CM Punk was fired from All Elite Wrestling as a result of the incident.
Before returning to WWE in November of 2023, there was much speculation of CM Punk signing with TNA Wrestling.
They made such a major money offer that TNA officials felt they were “very close” to landing Punk, and even made plans for his arrival.
CM Punk returned to WWE just days later as the Survivor Series PLE was wrapping up.
Moose is the current TNA X Division champion and is set to defend his title this Friday night against current TNA star and one half of the TNA Tag Team Champions, Jeff Hardy, at the LIVE Sacrifice event.
