WWE Elimination Chamber Review: John Cena Turns Heel

WWE Elimination Chamber 
Rogers Center, Toronto, Ontario, Canada 

I attended WWE Elimination Chamber live in Toronto. Seeing wrestling for the first time inside a stadium was awesome. My review of this show will be both from a live perspective and rewatching the show. 

Elizabeth Irving performed the Canadian National Anthem and Star Spangled Banner. The U.S. Anthem was booed. There were little cheers towards the end. The fans inside the building sang along to the Canadian National Anthem. 

Michael Cole, Wade Barrett and Pat McAfee were on commentary for the show. McAfee went off on the crowd for booing the Star Spangled Banner. Cole and Barrett were cracking up on commentary. They aired a WWE Elimination Chamber opening highlight package. There were huge firework display which was awesome inside the stadium.

Women’s Elimination Chamber Match 
Bianca Belair vs. Bayley vs. Liv Morgan vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Naomi

Bliss received a great reaction. Roxanne came out next to a solid reaction. Bayley came out next to a strong reaction. Belair received a tremendous babyface reaction. Morgan got a strong heel reaction. Naomi got a solid babyface reaction. 

The match was about to begin. The music played as Jade Cargill returned to a huge reaction. Liv had a shock look on her face. Jade then attacked Naomi which got a big reaction. Jade attacked Naomi with Belair watching on inside her chamber pod. Jade rammed Naomi into the chamber pod. Jade delivered a Pump Kick sending Naomi crashing through the chamber pod. This got a huge reaction from the fans. Jade used the chamber door and slammed it into Naomi. Jade left to a huge reaction. Naomi was eliminated from the match. 

(Amin’s Thoughts) — A tremendous return for Jade Cargill who looked like a bad ass. This would lead you to think that Naomi was the one behind Jade’s attack on SmackDown. Belair’s facial reaction seeing Jade attack Naomi while being in the chamber pod made this angle feel even bigger. This was really well done. 

Bianca Belair entered next. Belair went to check on Naomi. The fans booed this. The fans cheered as Liv sent Belair crashing into the chamber pod. Belair responded sending Liv crashing into chamber chains. Belair went for a handspring moonsault but Liv moved. Liv took back control rocking Belair with a Shining Wizard for two. Belair used Liv’s momentum sending her crashing onto turnbuckle. Belair connected with a handspring moonsault for two. 

Roxanne Perez entered next. Roxanne caught Belair with a head scissors. There was a cool spot as Roxanne leaped off Liv catching Belair with a flying Hurricanrana. Roxanne caught Liv with a wheelbarrow face buster for two. Roxanne connected with a leg sweep sending Belair into the chamber chains. Liv appeared rocking Roxanne with a Woo Dropkick for two. Liv and Roxanne connected with a double clothesline. 

Bayley entered next. Bayley rammed Roxanne into the chamber pod. Bayley delivered a knee strike sending Liv crashing into the chamber fencing. Bayley delivered a Bayley-to-Belly sending Liv into the chamber fencing. Bayley went to grab Belair’s ponytail but stopped from using it. Bayley connected with a Sunset Bomb for two. Bayley connected with a flying elbow drop to Belair for two. Roxanne planted Bayley with a Powerbomb onto the chamber padding. Roxanne followed hitting a Frog Splash onto Bayley for two. 

Alexa Bliss entered to a big reaction. Bliss rocked Liv and Roxanne with mounted strikes. Bliss connected with a running blockbuster to Bayley for two. Bayley and Belair caught Bliss flying off the ropes with a double slam. Bayley connected with a sliding crossbody onto Belair and Bliss. Bayley planted Liv with a Roseplant onto the chamber pad. Roxanne caught Bayley with La Mistica. Roxanne went for a Crossface. Bayley used the chamber chains to break free. Roxanne went for a springboard moonsault but Bayley countered. Bayley backdropped Roxanne onto the chamber padding. Liv appeared catching Bayley with ObLIVion. Bayley was eliminated. 

Belair chased Liv onto the chamber pod. Liv pulled on Belair’s ponytail. Belair whipped Liv with her ponytail. This was NASTY! Belair delivered a flying crossbody off the chamber pod onto Bliss, Liv and Roxanne in a cool spot. “This Is Awesome” chants. There was a Tower of Doom Powerbomb/Superplex spot. There was a nasty welt on Liv’s waist. Liv went for ObLIVion on Belair. Roxanne caught Liv with a Superkick. Roxanne went for Pop Rocks on Belair. Liv caught Roxanne with a Codebreaker. Bliss connected with Twisted Bliss onto Roxanne. This led to Roxanne being next eliminated from the match. 

Belair went for KOD on Bliss who caught Liv with a head scissors. Liv delivered the 3 Amigos to Belair. Liv rocked Belair with a Shining Wizard. Liv called for 619 but Bliss stopped her. Bliss went for Sister Abigail on Liv who broke free. Belair went for KOD on Bliss who broke free. Bliss caught Belair with Sister Abigail. Belair caught Liv with a reverse rollup. Liv sent Belair right into a Sister Abigail from Bliss. Liv caught Bliss with a jackknife cradle. There was a great spot as Liv grabbed hold onto Belair’s ponytail to eliminate Bliss from the match. This was really well done. 

Liv used Belair’s hair sending her crashing into the chamber fencing for two. Liv caught Belair with a flying Codebreaker. Belair bounced up rocking Liv with a spear for a two count. Belair swung Liv into the chamber fencing and chamber pod. Belair planted Liv with a Powerbomb. Belair went for a 450 Splash but Liv got her knees up. Belair went for KOD but Liv countered into a Codebreaker. Liv called for ObLIVion. Belair caught Liv coming off the ropes with a KOD to win the Women’s Elimination Chamber in 29:05.

WINNER
Bianca Belair

(Amin’s Thoughts) — This was best Women’s Elimination Chamber match to date. We got the big return of Jade Cargill right on time for WrestleMania. The pacing and action of the match flowed great. You can clearly see Roxanne is gonna be a big star on the main roster delivering another stellar performance in just her second WWE PLE. The creative eliminations with Liv using Belair’s hair to Bliss was just tremendous. Liv Morgan was the star of the match. The sound of Belair’s hair whipping and marks on Liv’s body looked brutal. Belair was great as well delivering a strong showing in her win. This now sets up a big WrestleMania title match with Rhea Ripley and Belair. My guess is Iyo Sky will be added which adds another great wrestler to the match. Overall, a great start to the show. A very good Women’s Elimination Chamber match. (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2)

• Belair pointed at the WrestleMania sign. There was a huge firework display. Belair walked to the back. Belair pointed at the WrestleMania sign. The fans went wild as WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley came out. Belair and Ripley had a stare down. The fans cheered as IYO SKY came out to a big reaction. Belair, Iyo and Ripley all had a stare down. 

(Amin’s Thoughts) — This was an awesome seeing Belair, Iyo and Ripley all have a stare down together. This gave me the feeling we are getting Rhea Ripley defending the WWE Women’s World Title against Bianca Belair and IYO SKY in a Triple Threat which feels like a big WrestleMania match. 

Trish Stratus & WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton vs. Nia Jax & Candice LeRae

Jax and LeRae came out first to Jax theme music. Jax and LeRae got big boos. Trish received an awesome reaction from the fans. Tiffany got a strong babyface reaction. Trish and Stratton were wearing the colours of the Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs. 

Tiffany and Trish started quickly with a double dropkick to Jax. Trish caught LeRae with a swinging neck breaker for a near fall. Jax pulled Trish to the floor. LeRae took control sending Tiffany crashing into the ring step. LeRae sent Tiffany into a corner seated senton by Jax. Tiffany responded pulling Jax off the ropes. Trish tagged in rocking Jax with chops. Trish rocked Jax with a Chick Kick. Trish followed hitting a Tornado DDT on Jax for a near fall. Trish planted LeRae with a spine buster. 

Trish called for Stratusfaction but Jax countered into a backdrop suplex for two. Jax placed Trish in a stretch muffler. Jax swung Trish into the turnbuckle. LeRae followed with a running dropkick for a near fall. LeRae planted Trish with a Fisherman’s Suplex for a near fall. Jax delivered the Stinky Face to Trish. LeRae and Trish connected with a double takedown. 

Tiffany ran wild delivering a cartwheel handspring to LeRae. Tiffany planted LeRae with a Cartwheel Spinebuster. Tiffany showed her power planting Jax with a spine buster. Tiffany nailed both Jax and LeRae with a double stomp for two. Tiffany called for the Prettiest Moonsault Ever but LeRae pulled her off the ropes. Jax took back control hitting a sliding leg drop to Tiffany for two. Tiffany caught Jax with a backdrop suplex which wasn’t smooth. 

Trish caught LeRae with a handspring head scissors but Jax made the save. Jax tagged herself back into the ring. Trish stopped Jax from climbing the ropes. Trish delivered a Super Bulldog to Jax. LeRae was suppose to make the save with a Springboard Moonsault but the timing looked off as the referee might have held up the count. LeRae landed onto her partner Jax. Tiffany delivered the Prettiest Moonsault Ever onto Jax for the win at 10:13. 

WINNER
Trish Stratus & Tiffany Stratton 

(Amin’s Thoughts) — I was inside the building when Trish faced Charlotte at SummerSlam 2019. I was also there when Trish defeated Lita at Unforgiven 2006 when she won the WWE Women’s Title. Both of those matches felt much bigger and special. This was still a nice moment getting to see Trish wrestle again in Toronto. This was mostly about having Trish give Tiffany the rub to present her a top level babyface before facing Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania. The match itself was fine. Good to see Tiffany getting the win for her team. (⭐️⭐️1/2) 

Unsanctioned Match
Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn 

Sami made his entrance first receiving an awesome babyface reaction. Owens got a huge heel reaction. Owens was wearing a KO Shirt. The letter O was replaced with a Maple Leaf. The referee for the match was … who wore a black shirt, black pants and black gloves. This was nice attention to detail with not wearing regular WWE referee shirts for an unsanctioned match. They dimmed the lights inside the stadium. This felt like a huge match. The crowd heat inside the building was off the charts. Cole on commentary mention El Generico (now Sami Zayn) and Kevin Steen (Kevin Owens) had a Supervilan Death Match. 

Owens and Sami began exchanging big strikes. The match moved to the floor as Sami ran Owens into the ring post. The fans chanted for tables. Sami placed chairs into the ring. Owens took control whacking Sami with a chair. Sami moved as the chair bounced into Owens face. Sami whacked Owens with a chair. Sami stacked a pair of chairs onto Owens. The fans went wild as Sami grabbed a Hockey Stick. Sami whacked Owens with a Hockey stick. Sami pulled out a table to a big reaction. 

Owens responded whacking Sami with a Hockey Stick. Owens bit Sami’s mouth with a Hockey stick. Owens stacked a pair of tables onto each other. Sami used the Hockey stick launching Owens over the barricade. Owens and Sami brawled into the crowd. Sami whacked Owens with a trash can. Sami delivered a backdrop sending Owens crashing through a table. Sami backdropped Owens thought a second table to a big reaction. This Is Awesome chants. They made their ringside with Sami whacking Owens with a trash can lid. 

Owens responded whacking Sami with a ring bell. Sami stopped Owens from climbing the ropes. Sami went for a Superplex but Owens escaped. Owens shoved Sami who went crashing through a stack of tables outside the ring in a great spot. This got a huge reaction inside the building. The crowd chanted “Holy S*it!” Owens delivered a Fisherman’s Buster sending Sami crashing through a chair for two. Owens went for a Popup Powerbomb but Sami escaped. Sami caught Owens with a Dragon Suplex. Sami delivered a second Dragon Suplex sending Owens crashing through a chair in a great spot. The crowd chanted “Holy S*it!” 

Sami went for a Helluva Kick but Owens pulled the referee who took a bump. Owens delivered a Stone Cold Stunner. Owens had a visual win. WWE referee Charles Robinson ran down to make the cover but Sami kicked out at two. Owens delivered a lariat taking out Charles Robinson who took an incredible bump. This got an Awesome reaction. Another WWE referee ran down to check on Charles Robinson. Owens grabbed a table. Sami responded tossing a chair into Owens face. Owens and Sami battled for position on the ropes. Owens delivered a Super Fisherman’s Buster sending Sami crashing through a table. This got another awesome reaction. Owens covered Sami for a two count. 

Owens yelled at Sami this was his fault. Sami responded nailing Owens with a Helluva Kick for two. Sami looked for something underneath the ring. The crowd went wild as Sami grabbed a Barbed Wire Chair. The fans chanted ECW. Sami whacked Owens with a Barbed Wire Chair. Sami caught Owens with a drop toe hold who went crashing into the Barbed Wire Chair. Sami delivered a Blue Thunder Bomb sending Owens onto the Barbed Wire Chair in a CRAZY spot. Sami covered Owens for two. This Is Awesome chants. Cole on commentary “This Is Sickening!” 

Owens caught Sami charging with a Popup Powerbomb. Sami immediately rolled to the floor grabbing his neck. Owens wrapped a chair around Sami’s neck and rammed him into the ring post. Owens grabbed Sami delivering an Apron Popup Powerbomb onto the ring apron. Cole on commentary screamed “You Sick B*stard!” WWE agents ran down. Owens showed them away. Sami battled back blocking another Apron Powerbomb. Owens grabbed Sami delivering a second Apron Popup Powerbomb of the match for the win at 25:30. 

WINNER
Kevin Owens

(Amin’s Thoughts) — This was my second viewing. My first was the live experience inside the Rogers Centre. There was incredible heat as both Owens and Zayn are two beloved WWE Canadian superstars. The only slight disappointment was not getting any. Having some blood would’ve added a better visual. Having no blood didn’t take anything away. This felt like Owens and Zayn were out there having a fight and not a match. Watching the match live with the dimmed lights was a nice touch. Owens and Zayn both took some nasty bumps. The reaction for the Hockey stick and Barbed Wire Chair inside the building were awesome. The table spots were nice laid out. I thought the finish was perfect. They played into the story of Zayn’s neck. The finish was a fantastic callback to when Owens debut in NXT giving Zayn an Apron Powerbomb. This was excellent. (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) 

Randy Orton Returns 

WWE security came out after the match holding Owens back. Owens left the ring as his music played. Owens returned attacking the WWE security guards. Owens removed the mats on the floor. Owens went to deliver a Package Piledriver onto Sami on the exposed floor. The fans went wild as “Voices” played. Owens reaction was awesome when Orton’s music played. Owens stood inside the ring. Randy Orton returned to an incredible reaction. 

Owens and Orton exchanged strikes. Orton caught Owens with an RKO to an incredible reaction. Orton grabbed a chair and thought about it. The fans inside the building began chanting “Punt!” Orton dropped the chair. The crowd went WILD as Orton went for the Punt Kick. There were thunderous boos as WWE security grabbed Orton before he could hit the Punt Kick. Huge Randy chants from the fans. The crowd went WILD as Orton delivered multiple RKOs to WWE security guards. Cole on commentary “It’s an RKO Party in Toronto.” Orton’s music played. Orton smiled and teased pointing at the WrestleMania sign. Orton stood on the ropes and did his awesome signature pose. 

(Amin’s Thoughts) — This was a tremendous return for Randy Orton. The fans reacted to Orton like he was biggest star in WWE. The tease of Orton bringing back the Punt Kick was awesome. Owens and Orton has the special feeling of a hot WrestleMania match. This was awesome to watch live in person. 

They aired a clip of Stephanie McMahon’s upcoming ESPN show called “Stephanie’s Places” A clip aired of Stephanie speaking with Pat McAfee. 

Men’s Elimination Chamber Match
John Cena vs. CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Damian Priest vs. Logan Paul 

Logan Paul came out first. Paul head to the back. Paul grabbed the USA Flag receiving thunderous boos. Priest came out next to a strong reaction. CM Punk came out next to an incredible babyface reaction. John Cena came out next receiving an amazing reaction. The reactions for both Cena and Punk were incredible live. Drew McIntyre got strong heel reaction. Seth Rollins got a big babyface reaction. The fans sang along to Rollins song. Cole on commentary noted Triple H has most Elimination Chamber wins with four. Cole also mention Chris Jericho has the most elimination in the Chamber match. Cole also said Jericho was the one to invent the Elimination Chamber match. 

McIntyre and Rollins started the match. McIntyre went for an early Claymore Kick but Rollins moved. Rollins went for a Curb Stomp but McIntyre moved. McIntyre took control early launching Rollins onto the chamber padding. McIntyre sent Rollins into the chamber fencing. Rollins responded running McIntyre into the chamber pod. Punk cheered Rollins on to attacking McIntyre more. Rollins connected with a springboard knee. Rollins followed hitting a running knee for two. McIntyre caught Rollins with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for two. McIntyre guillotined Rollins into the exposed steel. 

Damian Priest entered next exchanging huge strikes with McIntyre. Priest planted McIntyre with a flatliner. Priest grabbed Rollins delivering a Razor Edge to Rollins onto McIntyre. Priest went for a springboard but McIntyre caught him with a Glasgow Kiss. McIntyre caught Rollins with a Spinebuster. McIntyre grabbed Rollins and Powerbomb him onto Priest for two. There was a Tower of Doom Superplex/Spider German Suplex with McIntyre, Rollins and Priest. 

Logan Paul entered next to loud boos. Paul caught McIntyre with a springboard crossbody for two. Paul delivered a standing moonsault to Priest for two. Paul planted Rollins with a spinning neck breaker for two. Priest appeared running Paul into the chamber pod. There was a nice spot as Priest walked the ropes delivering a flying hurricanrana to McIntyre. The fans chanted “FU Logan!” Paul appeared catching Priest with a right hand. Paul planted Priest with a gut wrench suplex onto the chamber pad. Rollins caught Paul with a Superkick for two. 

John Cena entered next to a huge reaction. Cena rocked Rollins with a shoulder tackles. Cena delivered an Attitude Adjustment to Priest. Cena delivered a Blue Thunder Bomb to Paul. Cena delivered an Attitude Adjustment to Rollins. The fans in the building were going wild for everything Cena did. Cena gave Paul the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Cena delivered the Attitude Adjustment to Paul. McIntyre appeared rocking Cena with a Claymore. Cena rolled underneath the bottom rope. McIntyre went after Cena. Priest caught McIntyre with a Crucifix Pin to eliminate him from the match. 

McIntyre rocked Priest with a Claymore after he was eliminated. Paul climbed the ropes. Paul looked at Priest. Paul climbed on top of the Chamber pod. Paul delivered a Frog Splash off the Chamber pod to eliminate Damian Priest from the match. 

CM Punk entered the next to a big reaction. Punk planted Paul with a suplex on the chamber padding. Punk rammed Paul into the chamber door. Punk climbed the chamber fencing and pointed the WrestleMania sign. Punk turned around seeing Cena waiting inside the ring. The fans inside the building went wild for this. Cena and Punk exchanged words inside the ring. 

The fans booed as Rollins appeared rocking Punk with a running boot. Rollins rocked Punk with mounted strikes. Cena pulled Rollins off Punk. Rollins told Cena to go film more movies and that Punk was his. Cena and Rollins exchanged strikes. Paul appeared delivering a double Buckshot Lariat to Cena and Rollins. Paul went for a Buckshot Lariat on Punk which is funny. Punk went the Pepsi Twist but Paul escaped. Punk slapped Paul across the face. Punk delivered the GTS to eliminate Logan Paul from the match. 

Cena, Punk and Rollins all stood together inside the ring. This is where the match went from good to great. There were huge loud mixed chants for Cena and Punk. Cena, Punk and Rollins all exchanged strikes. Cena and Punk worked together delivering the Hart Attack to Rollins. 

Cena and Punk had stare down which felt like a big moment. Cena offered a handshake. Punk refused. The fans cheered as Punk gave Cena a hug. Awww! Cena and Punk exchanged strikes. Cena caught Punk with a pair of shoulder tackles. Punk stopped a Blue Thunder Bomb catching Cena with a rising knee strike. Cena responded stopping Punk’s bulldog hitting a spinning slam. Cena called for the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Cena caught Punk’s kick and went for the STF. Punk broke free. Punk went for the GTS but Cena countered into the STF. Punk countered into the Anaconda Vice. Cena countered into a rollup for two. Punk responded hitting a Pepsi Twist. Punk hit Rollins with a flying axe handle smash. Cena caught Punk flying off ropes. Cena rolled through delivering his signature Attitude Adjustment. Cena covered Punk who kicked out for an awesome two count. This Is Awesome chants. 

Rollins stopped Cena from climbing the ropes. Rollins delivered a Buckle Bomb sending Cena crashing into the chamber fencing. Rollins sent Cena crashing through the chamber pod. Rollins looked at Punk with an angry look. Punk  caught Rollins with a rollup for two. There was nice counter exchange leading to Rollins hitting a Pedigree on Punk for two. Rollins went for a Pedigree on the chamber pad. Punk countered backdropping Rollins into the ring. Punk delivered a signature Macho Man Elbow to Rollins. Punk went for a GTS but Rollins countered into a Buckle Bomb. Rollins delivered a Curb Stomp but Punk kicked out for a great two count. Rollins went for a Super Curb Stomp. Cena appeared placing Rollins in position for an Attitude Adjustment. Rollins escaped. Punk caught Rollins with a GTS. Cena delivered an Attitude Adjustment to Rollins. Punk covered Rollins to eliminate him from the match. 

This was awesome as the Elimination Chamber came down to Cena and Punk. There were huge chants for Cena and Punk. Cena offered a handshake. Punk grabbed Cena and delivered a GTS. Punk covered Cena who kicked out for a great two count. Cena responded catching Punk with an Attitude Adjustment for another awesome two count. Cena went for the STF but Punk grabbed hold of the ropes. Punk kicked Cena away. Rollins appeared delivering a Curb Stomp to Punk onto the Chamber padding. Cena saw what happened. Cena grabbed Punk placing him in the STF. Rollins grabbed hold onto the chamber looking at Punk. Rollins watched Punk pass out as Cena won the Elimination Chamber in 32:20. 

WINNER
John Cena

• The fans inside the building cheered as John Cena celebrated inside the ring. There was an awesome firework display as Cena celebrated. 

(Amin’s Thoughts) — A really awesome Men’s Elimination Chamber match. This was a tale of two different matches. This felt like they were going through different phases of good action, surprising eliminations to the big dramatic finish. Priest once again eliminating McIntyre sets up their likely WrestleMania match. Logan Paul may not be everyone’s cup of tea but he knows how to play a WWE superstar to perfection. Punk eliminating Paul after the Buckshot Lariat attempt was a nice touch. The fans inside the building were going wild for anything Cena did. You could feel something magical when Cena and Punk faced off. Cena and Punk’s working chemistry is just chef’s kiss. The finish was tremendous. The closing visual with Rollins watching on seeing Punk pass out after he delivered the Stomp was great. They have set up two huge WrestleMania matches. Punk and a returning Roman Reigns will both want to get their hands on Rollins which sets up the Triple Threat for WrestleMania. Cena winning now sets the stage for his chance to face Cody Rhodes and try to win his 17th WWE World Title at WrestleMania. Tremendous stuff here. A fantastic match. (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2) 

John Cena Turns Heel 

“Wrestling Has More Than One Royal Family.” The fans cheered as Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes made his entrance to a huge reaction. Cody got awesome firework display. The WOAHHH inside the building live was awesome. Cena held the ring ropes open for Cody who entered the ring. Cena and Cody exchanged words. Cena played full babyface. Cody offered a handshake. Cena accepted the handshake. 

The fans went wild as The Rock’s music played. Travis Scott music played. Travis Scott came out holding his version of a replica WWE Title belt. The played Travis Scott’s song “FE!N” played. The music switched as Hollywood Rock’s music played. Cody and Cena watched as The Rock made his entrance to the ring with Travis Scott. Rock got an incredible reaction. This felt special when The Rock came out. 

Travis Scott stood in a corner beside Cena. The Rock grabbed his hand and patted Cody’s face. The Rock told Cody that the moment has arrived. Rock said he would open his arms. Rock said Cody would embrace him as his brother. Rock said he would embrace Cody as “his champion.” Rock said he wanted it all. Rock said he wanted Cody’s mind and Soul. Rock said “God Have Mercy, I need your Soul.” Rock said The American Nightmare will live forever if the answer is yes. Rock said if the answer is no. Rock said “The Dream dies…again.” This got a hush over the crowd. Everyone knew what Rock was referencing with his line. Cena was shaking his head. 

Cody looked into the crowd. Cody told Rock he wanted it all. Cody said his Soul no longer belongs to him. The reaction inside the building was incredible as they were making out what was going on with Cody, Rock and Cena still inside the ring. The fans inside the building and myself included knew something was going to happen. That’s why this was saved for the main event of the show. Cody said he gave his Soul to this ring and these people a long time ago. This got an awesome reaction. Cody said “Hey Rock, Go Fuck Yourself!” The fans inside the building went WILD for this. This was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE to watch live. 

Cody and Rock had an intense stare down. You can see John Cena going wild playing up to the crowd. Travis Scott was doing something not sure what in the corner. Cody looked at Rock who started slowly walking back. This is key as Cody now has his back turned to The Rock. Cena watched on holding the ropes. McAfee was going nuts on commentary. Cody looked at Cena. This is where Cena who had huge smile on his face shook hands with Cody. The fans cheered as Cena and Cody shared a hug. 

What happened next was one of the greatest heel turns in Wrestling history. 

Cena’s facial reaction changed to serious. The fans in the building were going wild as Rock gave the throat gesture. Cena smiled and kicked Cody right in the balls. The reaction for this inside the build was CRAZY! 

Cena grabbed Cody’s gold Rolex watch. Cena attacked Cody with the gold Rolex watch. The Rock just watched on. McAfee was going nuts on commentary. Cena rocked Cody with mounted strikes. Cena grabbed the WWE microphone. Cena attacked Cody with the WWE microphone. Cena grabbed the Undisputed WWE Title and whacked Cody across the face. Cena had a serious look as he held up the Undisputed WWE Title. The fans in the building went wild. Cody was bleeding. Cena whacked Cody again with the Undisputed WWE Title. Cena ripped off Cody’s shirt. Cena choked Cody with a tie. 

Cena and Travis Scott both held Cody down. Travis Scott smacked Cody right across the face. The Rock whipped Cody with his weight belt. Cena placed his boot onto Cody’s face. Cody had a disgusted heel look. This got massive boos from the fans inside the building. The fans chanted “You Sold Out!” The Rock whipped Cody’s belt on the weight belt. The Rock whipped Cody with the belt again. The Rock handed Cena the Undisputed WWE Title. Cena tossed the belt onto Cody. 

Cena left the ring first to huge boos. Travis Scott left the ring next. The Rock pointed at someone before leaving the ring. Michael Cole left commentary. Cole entered the ring to check on Cody. Cena, The Rock and Travis Scott stood together inside the ring. They showed the closing credits. Cody was inside the ring. The show ended. 

(Amin’s Thoughts) — This was absolutely incredible to watch live. You just knew something huge was going down once they saved the Cody and The Rock segment for the main event. Cody is WWE’s biggest babyface star in the company. This wasn’t the time to turn Cody heel. What made this more incredible to watch live because I did not expect Cena to turn heel during his WWE farewell tour. The moment Cena’s expression changed and The Rock gave the throat gesture you knew something big was going down. WWE fans would’ve loved if Cena just came back and played his greatest hits. The question is does Cena win his 17th WWE World Title as a heel at WrestleMania? This heel turn now has the chance to do something bigger. They can now tell a bigger story of Cena going on a journey for redemption to turn back and retire as a beloved WWE babyface star. This just made the Road to WrestleMania much more exciting to watch. This was one of the best and memorable WWE heel turns.

This was one of the best PLE since Paul “Triple H” Levesque has taken over WWE’s creative. This was one of my favourite WWE shows to attend live. The only underwhelming match was the tag team match. It was still a nice moment to see Trish Stratus compete live in Toronto. Owens/Zayn was tremendous. The Men’s and Women’s Elimination Chamber matches were great. We got big returns with Randy Orton and Jade Cargill. We got an all-time heel turn with John Cena. The Road to WrestleMania really feels special. This was an Awesome show.
