GUNTHER vs. Goldberg isn’t likely, now.
Goldberg vs. GUNTHER
Earlier this year Goldberg announced that he was looking to have another match before hanging up the boots. One of the matches people were looking at as a possibility, was against GUNTHER, WWE’s current World Champion.
The tension between the two began at Bad Bloof 2024 when GUNTHER cut a promo and teased Goldberg, who was sitting in the crowd. Goldberg then jumped the barricade and things got a little heated. It seemed like maybe a match was on the horizon. But, now, PWN’s Viper and Masked J have reported that a match between the two is currently off the table. Goldberg is still looking to have his retirement match in 2025, but GUNTHER is off the table as an opponent. As for location, SummerSlam or Crown Jewel are the top two likely PLE’s for his final match.
Goldberg is a former multi-time world champion in both WWE and WCW. He’s had matches in WWE against the likes of Undertaker, the late Bray Wyatt, Brock Lesnar and even Dolph Ziggler. Could another legend face off with Goldberg for his last ride, or a rising star?
