WWE has some talent on their radar.
WWE In The U.K.
WWE has an upcoming tour of the U.K. In less than a month and they also have two U.K. Talent on their radar. The current U.K. Scene is slowly building back up and gaining more attention from fans after a few slow years, and WWE has taken notice again.
Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan first broke the news that Man Like DeReiss & Rhio are on WWE’s radar one way or another. DeReiss is a top star for Progress Wrestling amongst other U.K. Indies and has competed in the United States as well with the likes of GCW. He previously held the Progress tag team titles and is currently champion in three different indie promotions.
Rhio on the other hand, is a former Progress and IWC women’s champion. She’s gained a lot of attention over the past few years for her in-ring ability. She’s also wrestled stateside and has spent time with TJPW in Japan.
A top UK name has garnered interest from companies in the United States.
Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan has learned that in addition to the previously reported interest in Rhio, sources in British wrestling claim to Fightful Select that Man Like DeReiss is on WWE’s radar as a potential signing.
We are also told that several talents in WWE have been pushing for the signing of both Rhio and DeReiss. We have not heard if either talent will be present for extra work during the leadup to WrestleMania or will be present at the tryout scheduled for London in March. We are told that WWE have reached out to several schools and promotions with regard to the extra work for their pre-WrestleMania tour.
Rhio was recently spotted at the NXT Performance Center for NXT tapings, but was just visiting at the time. Both Rhio and DeReiss have also trained at the Hart Dungeon during their time in the US last year. We have also learned that talent signing with WWE was a big discussion point backstage at PROGRESS Wrestling’s event on Valentine’s Day.
Both DeReiss and Rhio have previously competed on NXT UK.
