Giovanni Vinci Released By WWE
Today, it was announced that WWE had released several WWE stars and one of those people was Giovanni Vinci. The former Imperium team member split from the group last year and was sent from RAW to SmackDown. There, he didn’t do much except lose to Apollo Crews twice in under a minute.
But, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there was a character pitch made for the Giovanni. It was clear his gimmick when he showed up was a sort of rich guy character, but he never really got to delve deep into it. Well, Meltzer has revealed that the character plan for Giovanni was a rich playboy gimmick, which they apparently had a great idea for, but it never came to fruition.
Sadly, Vinci has been released and has not had the chance to show off any character development. Hopefully in the future, we can see more.
