ROH on Honor Club Results 2/6/2025
We open with a rundown of the card, as Athena returns tonight, the Women’s World TV Title is on the line, Sammy Guevara is in action, and more! Plus a four-way tag team match. And with that, we head to the ring at Daily’s Place.
MATCH 1 – Blake Christian vs. Adam Priest
Priest has been getting a lot of looks lately, and has shown up on the Zero Hour shows in the past as well (Supercard 2024 specifically). But his last appearance on weekly ROH TV was in early May of 2024. I do wonder if he’s close to a deal, if he’s not on one already. Christian puts a middle finger in Priest’s face in lieu of the Code of Honor. Christian hits a nice low Tiger Feint Kick and a springboard clothesline. Priest is drawing big reaction from the crowd too as he got a big pop for a nearfall off a DDT. Christian hits a 450 double stomp, which was particularly nasty, and hits a bridging submission called Vanilla Choke Zero (looks a bit like Austin Aries’ Last Chancery) for the tap out.
Blake Christian def. Adam Priest by submission with Vanilla Choke Zero in 6:00.
Back from a Revolution ad, we look back to November 14 of last year, when Griff Garrison and Preston Vance teamed up and looked pretty good doing it. Then two weeks ago, when Jacked Jameson offered a team up to the two of them and Cole Karter. Still no answer as of yet.
MATCH 2 – Griff Garrison & Preston Vance vs. The Parea (Eli Theseus and Gabriel Aeros)
Again, no Code of Honor. The Parea come from Australia and they’ve teamed for a decade. They are the current Melbourne City Wrestling and World Series Wrestling Tag Team Champions. The latter they won from previous champions Eric Young and Frankie Kazarian in a four-way way back in October of 2023. Jameson makes his way to ringside for a distraction as The Parea start to assert themselves a bit, and Garrison and Vance take back over. Vance is the power and Garrison is…also there. Vance pins Aeros after a discus lariat (passed down from Mr. Brodie Lee), and that’s that.
Griff Garrison & Preston Vance def. The Parea (Vance pins Aeros) with a discus lariat in 6:18.
Post-match, it’s not a yes, per se, but when Jameson celebrates with the team, they don’t shoo him away. Hmm…
Backstage, Billie is trying to be Lexy Nair, introducing the Minion Empowerment Meeting. Athena tells us that she canceled their tag match tonight, because firing Lexy was a big part of Billie’s development, and it’s better for her to sit quietly and watch how Athena does things. Billie only remembers two of the nicknames, sending Athena into a rage again. Billie is already looking upset with this state of affairs.
MATCH 3 – Lee Johnson vs. Jon Davis
Jon Davis dates back to the HDNet era, where Davis teamed with Kory Chavis (who was also known as Rainman). At one point they had a win over the American Wolves on HDNet, and had a knock-down drag-out tag title match with The Briscoes. Lately, he’s been working in a few different places, but mostly in the southeast independents. He also had a 632 day reign during the pandemic as FIP World Heavyweight Champion. It’s Johnson’s speed and willingness to bend the rules against Davis’s power and toughness. EJ Nduka and Davis have a staredown on the floor, and I wouldn’t hate that. Davis scores with a nice wheelbarrow deadlift German suplex. But again Nduka gets Davis to the floor and puts him down. Back in, Johnson scores with a low superkick and the frog splash for the win.
Lee Johnson pins Jon Davis following a frog splash in 5:28.
MATCH 4 – Athena vs. Carolina Cruz
Athena has the spinner title belt tonight. I kind of like that that’s her less important TV version of the belt. Cruz is only about 18 months removed from her pro debut. She went by Emma Diaz in NXT, but never made it to TV it appears. She opens with a shotgun dropkick and several rapid fire strikes. This won’t last long. In between, she continues to yell at Billie to sit down at ringside to make sure she’s watching. Surely this won’t ever come back to bite her. Cruz gets a nice full nelson slam, but Athena fights back with a one-handed powerbomb and a knockout forearm for the win.
Athena pins Carolina Cruz following a forearm strike in 2:42.
Post-match, Athena tosses Cruz out at Billie’s feet, and when Billie doesn’t attack, Athena tells her to shut up and watch as she sets up Cruz to drive her face into the belt. Athena just goes wild on Cruz, slamming her into the barricade and when Billie tries to stop her, screams at her to “shut up and watch.” Ironically, she does nothing else, and walks off with Billie reluctantly behind.
MATCH 5 – Mansoor vs. Sammy Guevara
MXM Collection has been openly stating their desire to chase the ROH World Tag Team Titles, and this is definitely a way to get into title contention quickly, if Mansoor can pick up a win here. No Tip Touch of Honor as Mansoor throws the middle finger. Sammy uses the backflip leapfrog, and when Mansoor tries, he faceplants. Wackiness. As Guevara goes to get back in, Mason Madden cases the distraction, and Mansoor hooks a figure four around the bottom rope, which I’ve never seen before. Mansoor misses a charge, Sammy goes for the GTH, but Mansoor counters into what I can only describe as a leg capture single leg Boston crab. Mansoor continues to work the knee and even set up for Shattered Dreams, but Guevara is able to escape and counter. Then some jabs, and a Bionic Elbow to a pop. Sammy scores with a dragon screw off the top and Madden runs in. Sammy dodges a kick and gets Madden caught up in the ropes. Sammy and Mansoor trade counters until Sammy catches the Figure Four for the submission.
Sammy Guevara def. Mansoor by submission with the Figure Four Leglock in 7:28.
Post-match, MXM attacks, clipping the knee of Sammy, and hitting him with the Centerfold. Madden counts the pin for Mansoor, with Ian reminding us that that is not an officially sanctioned pinfall. MXM pose with Sammy’s tag title belt as we head to an All In Texas ad.
MATCH 6 – Red Velvet(c) vs. Robyn Renegade – ROH Women’s World TV Championship
Robyn won her last two matches in ROH, presumably to earn this title match, beating Maya World on Ep. 75, and Angelica Risk on Ep. 81. This is Velvet’s sixth title defense. Renegade grabs a headlock, and Velvet stomps both feet and rips her down by the hair. Renegade impressively catches a leg lariat in mid-air and turns it into a fallaway slam, showing some power. Renegade keeps pressing the advantage, but Velvet catches her in the apron and hammers away to take back over. Velvet actually hits the leg lariat now for two. Renegade catches her in a roll-up, but Stephon Smith catches her grabbing the ropes. Then Velvet tries her own, and Stephon catches her too. This honestly might be Renegade’s best performance in either AEW or ROH to date. As I say that, Velvet backs her into the corner with body shots and beats her down. But Renegade comes out with a thrust kick and goes for a pumphandle slam. Velvet counters into Straight Outta Your Mama’s Kitchen for the win.
Red Velvet pins Robyn Renegade with Straight Outta Your Mama’s Kitchen in 8:09.
MATCH 7 – The Premier Athletes vs. Grizzled Young Veterans vs. Dark Order vs. The Outrunners
On their entrance, Daily’s Place reminds the Premier Athletes that they, in fact, suck. Good to know. Just going to say that honestly, I kind of hope that Josh Woods is actually hurt. Because that’s the only excuse I can think of to not use a guy who can wrestle with the very best in the world. Truth Magnum and Ariya Daivari start. After a couple of tags, we get Dark Order and GYV pairing off, then all eight men wind up in the ring and we get a FOUR-WAY TEN PUNCH in each corner. Nothing like a spin on an old classic. Live crowds love counting to ten. Lot of by the books tag team wrestling, with teams taking turns blind tagging themselves in to the match. Eventually Truth Magnum gets isolated by GYV and the Premier Athletes, but as it so often does, the heels can’t get along forever. We get a nice tease of a tag as the four heels argue. They realize it and cut him off, but soon enough he gets the tag to Turbo Floyd and the Outrunners run wild until James Drake and Alex Reynolds clear the ring. Reynolds goes for a dive, but Mark Sterling cuts him off waving a handful of papers at him. Being in Jacksonville, Uno gets up on the apron with Sterling, takes the papers and tosses them at him, a la Mr. Brodie Lee. GYV hits an assisted sliced bread on Floyd, but Magnum is back in to save him. Floyd ducks an enzugiri from Drake and they hit Total Recall for the win.
The Outrunners def. The Premier Athletes, Grizzled Young Veterans, and Dark Order (Magnum pins Drake) with Total Recall in 10:18.
In the ring, The Outrunners celebrate as Ian tells us next week we’ll be on the Jericho Cruise, and wishes us HAPPY WRESTLING, EVERYONE!
