Judges Finalizes Settlement For $375 Million UFC Antitrust Lawsuit

The Lawsuit has finalized.

UFC had been in an antitrust lawsuit versus former fighters that was first filed back in 2014. Now, Judge Richard Boulware gave final approval on Thursday for the $375 million settlement agreement.

Back in October, an agreement was reached between the UFC and the fighters with Boulware giving preliminary approval, but now, the case officially closes with money now set to be dispersed to the athletes involved in litigation. During Thursday’s proceedings, UFC lawyers stressed to the court that the organization wants the fighters involved in this class action to file claims to receive money due to them.

Former UFC fighter and champion Eddie Alvarez spoke out about the win via X.

The lawsuit was first filed by fighters arguing that the UFC engaged “in a scheme to acquire and maintain monopsony power in the market for elite professional MMA fighter services.” Ot was then claimed that UFC achieved that goal through exclusive contracts, coercion, and acquisitions that eliminated potential competitors.
