The Dominator is hanging up the gloves.

Dominick Cruz Retired

Dominick “The Dominator” Cruz ends his MMA career with a record of 24-4. The former UFC Bantamweight Champion kicked off his pro career back in 2005 before making it to WEC, then finally the UFC in 2011. At one point, Cruz had a 13 fight win streak which saw him dominate the competition such as Demetrious Johnson, T.J. Dillashaw, Joseph Benevidez and who could forget the iconic feud against Urijah Faber!

Dominick was scheduled for a fight coming up against Rob Font, but has sadly announced today that he had to pull out of the fight due to injury following two dislocated shoulder mishaps. Now, at the age of 39, Cruz is retiring. He put out a message on his social media.

Dominick is a pioneer of the sport and the 135lbs division. We wish him the best in his recovery and congratulations on an epic career! Happy retirement, Dominick Cruz.
