If you didn’t realize, no, Sabu is not retired. But, he soon will be. Sabu hasn’t wrestled frequently in recent years, but he has not officially retired. Tonight, his retirement match has been announced. Joey Janela defeated former ECW World Champion Masato Tanaka at The People vs. GCW tonight and following the match, he hyped up his annual Joey Janela’s Spring Break event.
As Joey was talking, the lights cut off and a video of Sabu played. When the lights cam on, Sabu was behind him. He wanted a match. It was then made official. At WrestleMania Weekend, on the Joey Janela’s Spring Break event on April 18, 2025, Sabu will take on Joey Janela in what will be his retirement match.
Sabu is a former ECW star who has also wrestled in WWE, TNA, Japan, had appearances in AEW, and has been all over the world. One of the most hardcore and fearless competitors is hanging up the boots, so we say Thank You to Sabu.
