Dana White Claims Arman Tsarukyan Will Not Get A Championship Fight Next

Arman may have blew his shot.

Arman Tsarukyan Injured

UFC 311 was supposed to be headlined by UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev vs. Arman Tsarukyan for the title. Then, early Friday morning, it was revealed that Arman suffered a back injury while training and had to be pulled out just 24 hours before the fight. Renato Moicano then stepped up and fought Islam in the main event.

At the UFC 311 post-fight press conference, Dana White was asked about Arman and if he will get a title shot next, once he is healed up from his injury. Dana had a less than favorable answer for Tsarukyan.

No. No. Yeah, he’s going back to the drawing board. I don’t want anybody to ever fight hurt, ever. You know, we’ve been in these positions before. Went down there with the doctor, went down there with Heather from the PI, who is, you can ask any fighter or anybody else, she’s the best in the world. And, you know, you miss opportunities some times. And he did. So, we’ll see how this plays out for him next year.

When asked to clarify if Dana believed Arman could’ve competed Dana said “I have no idea, I don’t know that, only he knows that.”

Dana was then asked what “going back to the drawing board” looks like for Arman, and Dana again reiterated that he will not get a title shot.

I don’t know. He’s not getting a title shot, so, that means he’s going to have to fight his way back to the title.

Fans seem to disagree with Dana’s answer, as it isn’t fully fair that Arman pulled out, as he was injured. But, what the boss says goes. Dana was also unsure who would be next for Islam now.
