Chris Weidman is officially retired.

Former UFC Champion Retires

Chris Weidman is 16-8 as a pro-MMA fighter and former UFC Champion. After a decorated career in MMA and UFC, Chris Weidman has announced on today’s UFC 311 weigh-in show that he is officially hanging up the gloves and retiring.

Chris Weidman was a collegiate wrestler who immedietly turned pro in MMA with zero armature fights. Chris became UFC champion early on in his career after a win over Anderson Silva. Chris has also beaten the likes of Vitor Belfort, Lyoto Machida, Kelvin Gastelum and many more. After starting in mixed martial arts in 2009, Weidman went on a tear for years to come.

In 2021, Chris had a decent sting leg injury when his leg snapped in a fight against Uriah Hall. Many thought he wouldn’t come back after that, but he sure did! Weidman got his final win in March of 2024 when he defeated Bruno Silva.

His final fight came in December of 2024 when he took a toss to Eryk Anders at UFC 310. But, to celebrate his retirement, Weidman received messages on the weigh-in show from the likes of Jon Anik, Aljamain Sterling, Ray Longo, Stephen Thompson, Dana White, Hunter Campbell, his family and more.

Congratulations on retirement to Chris Weidman, it’s been one hell of a career!
