Matt Hardy On TNA Wrestling Media Rights: “That’s Something That Everyone Is Actively Working On”
On the latest episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Matt discussed TNA parent company Anthem Sports looking for better distribution for the show and plans going into 2025.
Hardy’s co-host Jon Alba asked Matt about TNA getting better media rights.
“That’s is something they are working on – I talk to management all the time. Everyday it’s all hands on board. That’s their main priority is trying to find a place where they can find a better platform to be on and gain some sort of media rights – that would be a game changer.I think the show is being written really well, I think things have been consistently good and had continuity. They really try to elongate the stories and make them as entertaining – put some little dips and twists and turns in and whatnot – that is paramount at the end of the day, especially to make money in the environment in 2025. Media rights are very very important. It’d be nice if we could get some nice media rights on a streaming platform or a channel that has a little more reach and is more prevalent in the more people’s homes and whatnot – that would be great. If they could do that, that would be a game-changer; that’s something that everyone is actively working on.”
This comes after former WWE executive Rob Kligman was hired by Anthem Sports as their new Chief Revenue Officer back in June, and Rob quickly made his agenda known:
To follow that up, Anthem hired new Anthem Sports Group President Carlos Silva, who’s near-term focus is sponsorships and broadcast distribution.
Hopefully this comes to fruition in 2025 because this roster and the company as a whole deserve the biggest platform possible to showcase their great talent.
