WWE Smackdown Results & Review (December 13th, 2024)

On December 13th, 2024 WWE aired the 1,321st episode of Smackdown live in Hartford Connecticut inside XL Center.

Note: This review will be shorter then normal as it be the last few mins of the match.

-Kicking off this week’s Smackdown with Jimmy Uso says War Games was lit and while it didn’t get Jim, it got his big toe. He says War Games meant everything to him because he stood alongside his family as families watched at home. He says for years, he watched his family dominate and entertain the WWE Universe and the fact that they get to continue doing so is a dream. He expresses how proud he is of each of his family members including Roman Reigns, Jey Uso & Solo Sikoa then addresses what’s next for him.

-Jimmy says he doesn’t know what’s next for him, but there’s many possibilities. He says a New Year is coming for him but Drew McIntyre hits him with a Claymore before he can leave the ring and rains down right hands on him. Officials run down to pull McIntyre off Jimmy.

-Backstage Women’s Speed Champion Candice LeRae & Women’s Champion Nia Jax wished Tiffany good luck in her Semi Final match.

-After the break we see Nick Aldis chew out McIntyre for his actions. Bianca BelAir & Naomi approach him as Aldis tells McIntyre to wait in his office. Aldis then tells BelAir & Naomi that their investigation into who took out Jade Cargill several weeks ago has hit a dead end and informs BelAir that she will have to relinquish the Women’s Tag Team Titles. Naomi proposes being BelAir’s new partner and Aldis says if that’s the case, they need to be ready to defend as early as next week.

Michin vs. Ms Money In The Bank Tiffany Stratton

Tiffany Stratton sends Michin crashing into the mat and connects with Prettiest Moonsault Ever.

Michin manages to avoid it and connects with Eat Defeat for the win.

Winner: Michin (8:23)

-We see a video recap of DIY capturing the WWE Tag Team Titles last week.

-We then got a DIY’s angry justification for their heel turn which was getting screwed out of their titles and rematch in Johnny Gargano’s home town in Cleveland. They complained about Motor City Machine Guns taking their spot and relished in their ability to steal the titles from them.

-Footage was shown of The Bloodline wreaking havoc on LA Knight, Andrade & Apollo Crews last week.

-We get a pre recorded video from Roman Reigns & said it had been a rough year. Not that long ago they ran everything and it all fell apart in the Spring and Summer. Reigns said he lost his title, his wiseman and the entire Bloodline. He said most importantly he lost his Ulafala. Reigns said he didn’t take that Ulafala, he earned it from his father and his uncle. He then challenged Solo Sikoa to a Tribal Combat match on January 6th on Netflix.

-Reigns said he would take back his Bloodline, his Ulafala and his respect and once he has that respect, the whole world will have no choice but to acknowledge him.

-Backstage Legado Del Fantasma complained to Nick Aldis about their treatment on Smackdown and said they might be better off on Raw. Santos Escobar then told Angel to get Adam Pearce on the phone. Nick Aldis did not seem bummed out. Carmelo Hayes then walked by and Aldis told him his opportunity is up next.

Carmelo Hayes vs. Braun Strowman

Carmelo Hayes being to string together some offensive moves and ascends to the top rope then looks to land a crossbody.

Braun Strowman catches him and hits a running powerslam to him for the win.

Winner: Braun Strowman

-LA Knight was interviewed backstage and he said he has always made a point to mind his business. He was asked to be in the war games match but he said no because it wasn’t his business. Knight said he doesn’t give a crap about Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa or the Ufalafa. He said the only one in that family worth a damn was Jey Uso & Sikoa had put his red necklace into the business of his gold belt. That means he has to put his fist in the way of his face and his boot up his ass.

Back in the ring Solo Sikoa sets up for a Samoan Spike on LA Knight but Knight avoids it.

Jacob Fatu & Tama Tonga then attack Knight on the outside causing the disqualification.

Winner By DQ: LA Knight

-After the match Fatu & Tama dump Knight back inside the ring, where Sikoa is waiting with a Samoan Spike. Tama & Fatu continue to beat down Knight but Andrade & Apollo Crews run down to the ring to even the odds until The Bloodline takes them down.

-Backstage Pretty Deadly approached Braun Strowman about being in their musical and he scared them off. He was then approached by A Town Down Under and asked to be on the Grayson Waller Effect and he agreed.

Semi Final Match Of The Women’s United States Title Tournament
Bayley vs. Chelsea Green

Bayley hits Piper Niven with an elbow drop off the top rope but Chelsea Green takes advantage and sends Bayley crashing over the barricade.

She gets back in the ring and the referee beats a 10 count.

Bayley beats it but walks into an Unprettiher from Green for the win.

Winner: Chelsea Green (12:12) (She will face Michin in the Finals)

-A video promo aired from Motor City Machine Guns. They store revenge on DIY & Alex Shelley said Johnny Gargano would find out why he was his teacher and he was the student next week. 

-LA Knight has something that he never deserved and would never have again. His last words were that he was inevitable.

-Candice LeRae & Nia Jax approached Tiffany Stratton and chided her over her loss. 

-LeRae said she had gotten her & Jax a Women’s Tag Team Title match next week against Naomi & Bianca BelAir. Jax said they should go and brainstorm that. LeRae said Stratton couldn’t bring gold to their group but now Jax could have 2 titles. She then told Stratton that maybe singles wrestling just wasn’t her speed.

-Michael Cole introduces Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and he makes his way down to the ring. He introduces Owens but Owens doesn’t appear. Cole addresses Triple H giving a gift to Rhodes on social media but Owens interrupts him on the Titan Tron in his car. He tells Cole to ask Rhodes how he can be okay with using his friends to help him and spit in their faces by teaming with Roman Reigns at Bad Blood. He says the truth is that Rhodes was way more interesting as Stardust.

-Rhodes storms out of the ring looking for Owens but Owens attacks him from behind in the backstage area. They brawl back out to the ringside area through the Gorilla position and continue to do so. A couple of security guards run down to break the them apart but Rhodes takes them out. More security guards and officials appear, looking to separate them. Owens grabs the Undisputed WWE Title and clocks Rhodes with it, standing tall to close out Smackdown.
