WWE Reportedly Nixes Plans For “Traitor” Storyline Leading Up To This Weekend’s Survivor Series PPV

With WWE’s Survivor Series taking place this weekend, tonight and tomorrow’s episodes of RAW and SmackDown LIVE will be the companies go-home shows leading into one of their biggest annual pay-per-view events of the year.

According to a new report from Wrestle Votes, there was a rather interesting storyline as part of the build leading into Survivor Series that apparently will not be taking place. It has also been reported that on tonight’s episode of RAW there will be a SmackDown LIVE “invasion” storyline that is likely to take place. But the storyline would have been a lot more complex and interesting perhaps if WWE had decided to keep the rumored storyline in place.

The report stated that WWE’s plan originally for tonight’s SmackDown LIVE invasion of RAW was to have a RAW brand Superstar get tipped off to the whole invasion, which would have created the angle of having the SmackDown roster look for a mole amongst them. Once they discovered the leak, it was then expected that they would go after the “traitor”. However, those plans are apparently no longer on the table.

Wrestle Votes report stated, “Heard of a really intriguing storyline that isn’t happening, but worth noting. The idea was that SD will invade RAW tonight, but prior to it, someone from RAW would be tipped off, thus creating a “traitor” storyline. Shane would then work to find who alerted RAW they were coming.”
