Jeff Jarrett Rumored As Possible Replacement For Daniel Bryan As SmackDown GM

It was reported last week in an audio update via PWInsider Elite that WWE Creative had been told to put together a list of replacements for Daniel Bryan‘s role as SmackDown LIVE General Manager, now that Bryan is returning to in-ring action as an active member of the WWE Roster.

Rumors had been circulating that a possible candidate for the role of SmackDown LIVE GM could be Hulk Hogan, but with him not being named as an inductor for this years Hall of Fame Class it seems less likely he is still being considered, but anything is possible at this point. Another name making rounds as a potential replacement for Daniel Bryan has been 2018 WWE Hall of Fame Class Inductee Jeff Jarrett.

While not much is known currently as to what names are on the list for SmackDown Live GM, it is worth mentioning that Vince Russo acknowledged that he has also heard the rumors of Jarrett being discussed for the role, but he pointed out that the old Vince McMahon that he knew would consider Jeff Jarrett too southern for the position. But much like the possibility of Hogan, don’t count anything out at this point.

It should also be noted that Jeff Jarrett was backstage at last night’s WWE SmackDown LIVE in Nashville, Tennessee. This would mark Jeff Jarrett’s first time at a WWE Event since the 1999 WWE No Mercy PPV. WWE posted footage of Jarrett backstage at last night’s SmackDown which you can see below.

Keep in mind that these names are just rumors, and that nothing has been set in stone. We will keep you updated however if anything becomes known regarding Daniel Bryan’s replacement as SmackDown LIVE General Manager.
