Rhea Ripley retained the Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill at Clash in Italy and it appears that she will head into SummerSlam as champion.

Charlotte Flair said on SmackDown last week that she wants a title match at SummerSlam but Tiffany Stratton also has her sights set on Ripley and the championship.

But it seems WWE is headed in a different direction:

Accoriding to False Finish, WWE has discussed the idea of Rhea Ripley defending the Women’s Championship against the recently called up Jacy Jayne at SummerSlam.

The match would make sense because Fatal Influence has been feuding with Rhea, Charlotte, and Alexa Bliss since arriving to SmackDown.

Rhea Ripley is also currently dealing with an injury and wasn’t on SmackDown last night. The injury and the severity of it is unclear at this point in time.
