Konosuke Takeshita Retains AEW International Championship

AEW’s resident meat match!

AEW International Championship

Konosuke Takeshita defended his AEW International Championship against Powerhouse Hobbs at AEW Worlds End in a match that feels like a long time in the making. Ever since Hobbs was injured a year ago, Don Callis moved on and has now replaced his old client in Hobbs, with Takeshita. Now, Hobbs is back for revenge.

The two big men were going at it from the sound of the opening bell, with the crowd even giving them immediate “meat” chants. Hobbs was showing off his strength, but it seemed as if every time Hobbs started to get a lead, Takeshita would put a stop to it with a cheap shot.

As the match went on, Powerhouse Hobbs was getting brutalized, but he popped up with a big spine-buster and almost finished off Takeshita. Hobbs followed up with a powerslam off the top rope to a big ovation.

In the end, Konosuke targeted the bad knee of Hobbs and finished him off with his signature Raging Fire to retain the gold.
