CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns Has Been Heavily Discussed For Potential WrestleMania 41 Match
WrestleMania 41 is set to take place on April 19th & 20th, 2025 in Las Vegas, and it looks like one of those nights might see a potentially huge matchup on the card.
According to a new report from Sean Ross Sapp via Fightful Select, sources have relayed to him that CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 41 has been heavily discussed, adding that he had heard a rumor a few weeks ago that this match wasn’t the plan, but that has been adjusted as of late. It was also stated that CM Punk has been hoping for this match to take place.
“Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp heard via WWE sources that CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns at next year’s WrestleMania has been heavily discussed. We’d heard a number of weeks ago that this wasn’t particularly the plan, but had been adjusted of late. We’re told that CM Punk had also hoped for the match.”
The report also stated that they were told last year prior to CM Punk’s return to the company, “that Roman Reigns was a talent that was not keen on him returning.”
“Fightful Select was told last year ahead of CM Punk’s return that Roman Reigns was a talent that was not keen on him returning.”
Additionally, Sapp was told that a planned Roman vs. Punk match as of a couple months ago, is a “drastically different direction” than what had previously been planned for both talents and that neither plan involved The Rock in any capacity.
“We’re told that this is a drastically different direction than what had been planned for both talent even a couple of months ago, none of which involved the Rock. It was noted to us that if The Rock informs WWE of involvement in WrestleMania, much of the card could change, including this.”
We will keep you updated if we hear anything more about a potential Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk WrestleMania 41 match, or any other plans involving the two.
