Stipe Miocic Apologizes To Jon Jones Following ‘Bitch’ Comment

Stipe is sorry.

UFC 309

Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic will clash for the UFC Heavyweight Title in just 5 days. Saturday, November 16th at UFC 309 in Madison Square Garden. But, things have taken a strange turn in the lead up to the bout.

Yesterday, Jon Jones reacted to Stipe Miocic saying “Bring it on, bitch” on the countdown show, and he felt disrespected. Now, Stipe Miocic was on the Ariel Helwani Show where he reacted to Jones comments and ended up apologizing. Stipe was asked about Jones comments and had no clue about the situation.

Oh yeah, he was just talking to me, I was just talking to him. Bring it on. I don’t know, I’m sorry I hurt his feelings, I mean, I was just fired up, you know?

Ariel then read the full tweet of Jon Jones reacting to it and Stipe responded.

Okay, I’m sorry. I wasn’t trying to disrespect you in any way. It was just the moment, the heat of the moment, I mean, I don’t know. Sorry. I don’t know.

Ariel then asked what he made of the first Jones comment, saying he hired black fighters to mimic him.

I didn’t hire anyone. Yeah, I don’t know. Isn’t that what you’re supposed to do when you fight someone? You get someone to try to mimic? I don’t know. Whatever. It is what it is, I mean, I’m not going to worry about it.

Despite the odd turn of events, they will be locked in the cage this Saturday and only one man will prevail.
