Yuki Ueno Defeats Yukio Naya To Retain DDT Pro-Wrestling KO-D Openweight Title, Next Challenger Emerges

Yuki Ueno remains the DDT Pro-Wrestling Openweight Champion but he has a new challenger on the horizon.

On January 28th at DDT Pro-Wrestling’s Sweet Dreams! 2024, Yuki Ueno put his KO-D Openweight Title on the line for the first time since winning it back on November 11, 2023. Ueno’s first challenger came in the form of the D-Ou Grand Prix 2023 winner Yukio Naya. When the smoke cleared and the match ended, it was Yuki Ueno who had prevailed after forcing Naya to submit to a Twister Submission hold.

This was Yukio Naya’s second opportunity in a little under a year to win the KO-D Openweight Title. He has failed in both attempts.

Following the match, Danshouku Dieno appeared and confronted Ueno. The two have a match scheduled for February 14th at Shinjuku FACE which was set to be a non title encounter. With DDT Pro-Wrestling President Sanshiro Takagi in the ring, Ueno asked that their February 14 non title match be changed to one with the KO-D Openweight Championship on the line. Ueno’s wish was granted and he will make his second defense of his title against Dieno on February 14th.
