The DDT Pro-Wrestling DDT Universal Champion MAO officially has his first challenger.
On November 16th, DDT Pro-Wrestling held a pre-show public contract signing ceremony between the DDT Universal Champion MAO and his first challenger Lucha Libre star Demus. They both signed the contract making their November 19th title match at Get Alive 2023 in OSAKA official.
Daisuke Sasaki, who is well versed in Spanish, acted as an interpreter for Demus.
Demus and MAO commented on the match after it was made official. (Demuth’s comments were translated by Daisuke Sasaki):
MAO! There’s no way a guy like you is universal. The countrymen of Miyagi! My daughter-in-law, Hiroka, is from Fukushima. It is much closer to Tokyo than you. In other words, I’m UNIVERSAL. I’ll take that belt. Viva Mexico!
Demus
MAO followed Demuth’s comment’s with his own:
We apologize for your concern. I will continue to do well again in this way. Now that I’ve finally won this UNIVERSAL belt, I want to dive into a world I don’t know. Mr. Demus, I’m not afraid of it. I wanted to feel Mexico as well, so I nominated him. I’m going to a world I’ve never seen before, so let’s all follow and see a world we’ve never seen before. That’s what I want to do with my belt. First of all, I want to defeat Mr. Demus.
MAO
MAO won the DDT Universal Title of November 12th with a victory over Matt Cardona at Ultimate Party 2023. Demus is a freelancer based out of Mexico.
