Jon Moxley has been looking forward to his return to NJPW for a while now.

Moxley, who is also a former IWGP US Champion will wrestle in Japan for the first time in Japan since 2020 at NJPW Dominion on June 4.

Moxley has competed at NJPW shows in the United States since then, and he will be in action at NJPW Resurgence in Long Beach, California, on May 21.

Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Moxley gave his thoughts on his return to Japan and expressed his excitement.

“I’m really stoked about going back to Japan. Now I don’t have to worry about going back and forth between New Japan and AEW. The working relationship is really good, and that makes it easy for me. I still work for New Japan Strong in the U.S., but it’s not the same as being over there in Japan. It’s been so long. I need it. There are still a lot of big matchups. I’m really excited about it,” Moxley said.

Moxley made it very clear that he wants the biggest and best matchups to push himself.

“Okada, Ishii, I’m here to wrestle the best guys,” says Moxley. “I’m here to push myself. I want to help the young guys, pushing them to be the best. Getting back to Japan and mixing it up over there, it makes me better,” Moxley said.

Moxley and the rest of the Blackpool Combat Club will be in action at AEW Double Or Nothing when they face off against The Elite in an Anarchy in the Arena match.
