AEW Turned Wardlow’s Car Break In Into Storyline

Wardlow’s car was broken into after AEW Revolution and his TNT Title was stolen along with the rest of his stuff, including his gear and passport. This situation is terrible, but that didn’t stop AEW from using it as fodder for their television show.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Wardlow’s car break-in situation was 100% legit. That being said, AEW still turned it into a storyline for television.

“Regarding the Wardlow break-in of his rental car and the stealing his clothes and gear and the title belt, that was legit.

“They have since turned this into an angle where QT Marshall ordered it and Aaron Solo carried it out.

“They actually did a re-enactment of it on Dynamite on 3/15 and further added to it with the idea that Solo stole Wardlow’s passport and gave it to Marshall, and while never actually explained on television, the idea was without his passport he couldn’t come to Canada for television this week which explained his not being there.”

WON

AEW has a lot of creative irons in the fire, and it certainly helped them out to have this happen with Wardlow. Tony Khan didn’t have to think twice about using that real-life situation on television, and he even picked someone on the roster to pin the crime on.
