Tony Khan Dismisses Comparisons To Vince McMahon

Last year, MJF became the talk of the pro wrestling world after he no-showed a meet and greet before AEW Double Or Nothing. Right after that, he went off on Tony Khan in a huge way.

This is because he called Khan a “f*cking mark” while questioning his role as the President. He then also begged to be fired, which led to a long hiatus from AEW television until his eventual return at AEW All Out.

While speaking with 98Rock 97.9 Baltimore, Tony Khan dismissed being compared to Vince McMahon.

“It’s a very different thing. I consider myself almost as much of a device on the show as anything. I believe it’s important to have a person that makes the matches, and everyone knows that I own AEW and run the promotion.

I think it makes a lot of sense to have someone on the show that is pushing against authority, but in this case is somebody who is widely hated and not fighting in the best interest of the promotion, because I always try to do everything that’s in the best interest of the wrestling fan and AEW, because that’s what I put first.”

We’ll have to wait and see what Tony Khan has in store for fans, as AEW finally has momentum on their side again.
