Hayabusa’s Daughter Thanks Will Ospreay For Honoring Her Father

Hayabusa has left an impact on pro-wrestling.

Will Ospreay is the current NJPW United States Champion. On the recent New Japan ProbWrestling and STARDOM historic X-over show, Ospreay successfully defended his championship against Shota Umino. But, Ospreay wowed wrestling fans world wide when he entered to the ring wearing Hayabusa inspired gear. The green and gold pants, jacket and masked identical to Hayabusa’s was a hot topic of discussion during the event and it was mentioned on commentary that the gear will be auctioned off with the proceeds going to the late Hayabusa’s family. To make things even cooler, Will Ospreay took to his Instagram to reveal that he went out to lunch with Hayabusa’s daughter and asked her in person if he could make the gear and pay tribute to her father. Without hesitation, she said yes. Thanks to Naomichi Marufuji, Will was introduced to the original mask maker to get the gear done. Will Ospreay then revealed that this gear was supposed to be worn back in may, but due to Covid it didn’t happen. But now, it was time.  Following the event, Hayabusa’s daughter took to her own social media to thank everyone in involved with the process.

What a cool moment for everyone involved and we will keep you updated on the auction for the gear when it’s posted.
