Jimmy Smith Comments On His WWE Exit: “My time with the WWE is officially done”

Jimmy Smith comments on his exit from his position of lead commentator on Monday Night RAW.

It was announced earlier today that WWE were shaking up their commentary teams and one name that was notably missing was lead RAW announcer Jimmy Smith. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful would confirm that Smith had left the company.

Smith took to Twitter shortly after the news broke and thanked WWE and the fans for the fun and acceptance he received as part of the WWE commentary team.

Just wanted to say, now that the story is officially out, that my time with the WWE is officially done. Had a lot of fun and met some great people. Really and truly blown away by the acceptance from the WWE fans! You folks make it work every week and your enthusiasm was amazing!

Time will tell what is next for the announcer, but it likely won’t be long before an announcer like Smith is snapped up by an MMA or pro wrestling promotion.
