The answer we’ve been waiting to hear has been given.
After this past Sunday’s chaotic backstage brawl post-All Out, we’ve heard that several talent were suspended including The Elite, who’re the current AEW Trios Champions. CM Punk has also gotten punished, which we don’t know the extent of. But, we now know that The Elite and CM Punk have been stripped of their titles. Tony Khan himself kicked off tonight’s AEW Dynamite to announce that both sets of titles have been vacated.
Tonight, as previously announced, Death Triangle will take on the Best Friends in trios action. But, now, that match will be for the vacate AEW Trios Titles. As far as the world title, there will be a tournament that’ll culminate at AEW GrandSlam where we will crown a new AEW Champion. The tournament consists of Bryan Danielson, Adam Page, Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin, Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley. The first round match of Bryan Danielson vs. Adam Page will be tonight’s main event.
