AEW’s John Silver Throws First Pitch at White Sox Game

As All Elite Wrestling takes over Chicago for this weekend’s All Out festivities, John Silver of the Dark Order had the opportunity to throw out the ceremonial first pitch ahead of tonight’s game between the Minnesota Twins and Chicago White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field. The showdown between the AL Central contenders aired live on FOX.

Silver was certainly a good luck charm for Chicago pitcher, as Sox starter Dylan Cease continued to bolster his case for the AL Cy Young, carrying a no-hitter into the eighth and pitching a complete game in Chicago’s 13-0 victory. You can see footage of the offering below:

This isn’t the first time an AEW talent has thrown out a first pitch at an MLB ballpark. Shane Strickland in Miami, Paul Wight in Milwaukee, Britt Baker in Pittsburgh and the trio of Will Hobbs, Thunder Rosa and Ricky Starks in St. Louis have all thrown out a first-pitch.

Silver also received a jersey with the number four. The number is retired in Chicago for Hall of Famer Luke Appling and hasn’t been issued since the late 1960s. However, the number is obviously a nod to John Silver being number four in the Dark Order.

You can watch AEW All Out on Bleacher Report or FITE TV internationally on Sunday night at 7 EST. John Silver will team with Adam Page and Alex Reynolds as they look to become the inaugural AEW Trios Champions.
