Three Fights To Look Out For: UFC Fight Night 209

UFC Fight Night 209 is here and the event is headlined by Ciryl Gane vs. Tai Tuivasa for the possibility to be the next challenger for the heavyweight title, if not right up there in the rankings, which is a literally and figuratively huge main event. But, we’re gonna take a look at three fights you may not be looking at, but should be watching out for. It’ll be live from the Accor Arena in Paris, France on Saturday night and will air on ESPN+. Lets take a look at some fights!

Joaquin Buckley vs. Nassourdine Imavov

Yeah, Buckley is back and you know it’s always a show when ‘New Mansa’ steps into the cage. 15-4 record and coming in on a three fight win streak with the latest coming by TKO via doctors stoppage back in June. But, he’s steeping into the octagon against a dangerous Nassourdine Imavov who’s on a two fight win streak right now with both wins by way of TKO. But, this will be Imavov’s first fight of the year, with the last coming in November 2021. Both of these men has knockout power and both are looking to put on a performance that boosts them up the rankings and off of the prelims onto the main show and eventually, a title shot. Fireworks will be set off with this fight, so don’t miss it! Watch those prelims!

Gabriel Miranda vs. Benoit St. Denis

Gabriel Miranda will be making his UFC debut this Saturday night on the prelims. He’s a 16-5 fighter on a three fight win streak with all three being by way of submission victory. Though, Gabriel hasn’t fought in nearly a year since October 2021, but he’s looking to make a big statement in his first UFC fight. Though, it won’t be easy. Benoit St Denis is coming off of his first UFC victory by way of submission. He is 1-1 in UFC but 9-1 overall with eight of his nine wins coming by way of submission. So, you know we have a possible submission battle on our hands to see who’s the first to get their opponent to submit. But, don’t think they can’t throw hands because Denis other win is by way of knockout while Gabriel has one knockout on his record as well, but, with the other 15 coming by way of submission. Yes, no joke, 15 wins by submission with a 16-5 record for Gabriel and eight the by submission with a 9-1 record for Benoit, The likelihood of this ending via submission is super high, I can’t wait to see who taps out who and you should be watching too!

Charles Jourdain vs. Nathaniel Wood

This fight will be the main card opener come Saturday and it should be a fun one. Charles is coming off of a controversial loss back in July where many thought he won the fight when it went to decision. But, with a quick turn around, the 13-5 fighter has the chance to prove everyone how great he is and get back onto his winning ways in France. But, standing in his way is the 18-5 Nathaniel Wood, who’s coming off of a July decision victory. Both men with just a little over a month turn around, one looking to keep his streak alive and one looking to get back on track. If you haven’t seen these two before, they both have the ability to finish a fight on the feet and on the ground and I’m expecting no less than a finish in this one. Keep your eyes locked on this opening main card fight!

It should be a great night of fights this Saturday on ESPN+. The prelims begin at 12pm EST with the main card beginning at 3pm EST. You’re not going to want to miss this event headlined by France’s own Ciryl Gane vs. Tai Tuivasa, plus, in our co-main event, Robert Whittaker is back to take on Marvin Vettori. Plus, all the prelim fights and especially the three I listed above, don’t miss out!
