Gisele Shaw first appeared in IMPACT Wrestling back in February of this year, after being advertised through vignettes in January. Since she arrived, Gisele has had a few different roles. Tag partner with Lady Frost, almost joining “The Influence” (Madison Rayne & Tenille Dashwood), and she’s had some great singles matches as well. It seems like every time she’s about to get a push, an obstacle presents itself.
In an interview recently with Ella Jay of SEScoops, Shaw was asked to share her thoughts on VXT winning the titles. She responded by noting that while they have elevated the Knockouts’ tag team division, she intends to take it to another level.
“I mean, Chelsea and Deonna individually, they’re a force to be reckoned with, [as] individual wrestlers. But now that they’ve joined forces, I think they have just taken the Knockouts Division, the tag team division to another level. I’m really happy and excited for them. However, I am going to find myself maybe a tag team partner, and The Quintessential Diva is, they take to another level, but I’m gonna take to the next level. Watch out, girls,” Shaw said.
When asked, Shaw specifically named Mia Yim as her ideal partner, given her skill set and her list of accolades.
“That’s a tough once, but I would have to say Mia Yim. I would definitely have to pick her. I think she’s an incredible wrestler, and she’s been at IMPACT for the longest time. Why not choose someone who has great accolades?” she said.
Gisele lost to Masha Slamovich on the August 4th episode of Impact on AXSTV. Since then she’s kind of just been in limbo; no real feud going, no direction. This might just be the thing she needs to get out of her funk.
Mia Yim recently challenged Jordynne Grace for the Impact Knockouts World Title at Emergence, which was a fantastic match but she fell short. This past week, Mia teamed with Grace and challenged VXT (Deonna Purrazzo and Chelsea Green) for the Impact Knockouts World Tag Team Titles, and in that bout Grace got pinned by Deonna. What’s bext for Mia? Who knows? Some fans believe this could be a great pairing.
