Jack Morris has been one of the brightest young talents to emerge in Scotland over the past few years as part of the new breed of ICW competitors since the launch of ICW Fight Club during the Pandemic era.

A 5 year pro who started his wrestling Journey with Reckless Intent Wrestling, striking up a quick friendship with one of the veterans of the RIW training school and Steward of the ICW Tag Team Division for many years Dickie Divers. The two would go on to to form the Nine9 tag team based on their love of the US sitcom Brooklyn 99, the two would become instant successes quickly establishing themselves as one of the best tag teams in Scotland, winning tag team gold with RIW and ICW. Jack has also managed to shine as singles star as well, as part of the ICW Lion Heart League, runs with Discovery Wrestling and with PCW, the latter of which saw him become a finalist in their Road To Glory 2022.

Now he is competing in one the biggest and most prestigious wrestling tournaments anywhere in the world as part of Pro Wrestling Noah’s N1 Victory. Speaking recently on Bodyslam’s Tea and Tights: A Great British Wrestling Podcast, Jack would discuss what it has meant to him to be taking part in the tournament.

“It’s, It’s wild like it is crazy it feels surreal you know it’s good talking to wrestling people about it, because you understand how much of a big deal it is. As I also am a gym instructor as well as wrestling, when your talking people and you’re like I am going to Japan, but they’re not into wrestling they don’t quite understand it. But when you’re talking to wrestling people about it and they get and they don’t quite understand how much of a big deal it is, it’s surreal to be given an opportunity. Even just the opportunity to be in a the Noah ring just a few matches but being in this N1 Victory it is wild, its crazy, its surreal and I think it will be surreal until, I don’t know when it won’t to be honest.”

Jack finds himself of Group B in this years N1 Victory, with former winners Kiyomia Kaito and Katshuki Nakajima, as well as former GHC Heavyweight Champions, Satoshi Kojima, Takashi Sugiura and Masakatsu Funaki, plus rising stars Masa Kitamiya and Kinya Okada. He kicks off the tournament on the 11th of August against Kiyomia Kaito, speaking on the Tea & Tights: A Great British Wrestling Podcast, Jack gave his thoughts on his first opponent.

“To be honest when I saw it was me versus him first I was really happy I was buzzing, because he is just incredible and he is like I don’t even want to say next big thing, because he is big, he is a superstar already. I think watching his style and knowing my style and it’s going to be the first time I get to wrestle in a Noah ring first impressions to be against him, that’s why I am happy because I know we’re going to able to have great match.”

Jack would continue on to discuss his other opponents and his chances in the block and tournament;

“I am not there to make up the numbers I am there to win I am going to get a few wins in this block, I’ll tell you that we’ll see who its against at the end but the block is just crazy. It is mad and like I said it’s Surreal, I am going to be standing in the ring across from these guys and that bells going to ring and it’s going to be go time. There all going to be tests to be fair, there are so many different styles there so many different variations, I like to think I have good hybrid I can do a bit of the British Style, I can do bit of wrestling, I can fly, I can brawl. Everyone of those matches there are so many different things that can happen in each match and its going to be an education like there is no doubt about that I just can’t wait to get going.”

This will be the first time Jack has been to Japan and even if he does get out the Block stages there are still incredible performers in the other block including the likes of Kennoh, Naomichi Marufuji, Hideki Suzuki, Go Shiozaki, Anthony Greene, El Hjo del Dr Wagner Jr and Masaaki Mochizuki. Pro Wrestling’s Noah N1 Victory kicks off the 11th of August and for the first time ever the full tournament will be streamed live with English Commentary on the Wrestle Universe streaming service.
